To Whom It May Concern,
The City of Huntington Beach requires Nei hborhood Notification of adjacent property
owners when an applicant proposes to provide personal instruction from their residence.
This letter is to notify you that Carol A. Stone is proposing to permit voice and piano
lessons from her home located at 19922 Chesapeake Lane in Huntington Beach. The
following is description of her business:
Teach voice and piano lessons 3 to 4 hours per day (except Sundays)
There are no employees or assistants
Lessons are typically held between the hours of 4 pm and 8 pm during the week and
between 10 am and 6 pm on Saturday
There is a minimum ten feet of separation between the subject residence and abutting
homes on either side of my property
Students range in age from five to 95 years of age
Pursuant to the City's Neighborhood Notification Standards, you are encouraged to
review and comment to the Planning Department for ten business days from September 6,
2005 through September 16, 2005. Under the provisions of the Huntington Beach
Zoning and Subdivision Ordinance, the action taken by the Planning Director is final at
the expiration of the 10-day appeal period. A person wishing to appeal the decision shall
file a written notice of appeal to the Secretary of the Planning Commission within ten
calendar days of the date of the Planning Department's action. The notice of appeal shall
include the name and address of the appellant, the decision being appealed, and the
grounds for the appeal. A filing fee shall also accompany the notice of appeal. The
appeal fee is $409.00 for a single-family property owner appealing the decision on his/her
own property. The appeal fee is $1,063 for all other appeals. The appeal period starts at

tenants when an applicant proposes a restaurant, outdoor dining, personal enrichment services, non-
amplified live entertainment, carts and kiosks, large family day care or a sign code exception when
certain criteria is met.
This letter is to notify you that Carol Stone is proposing to continue her existing business of Voice &
Piano Instruction at 19922 Chesa eake Ln. She has already been in business at this location for more
than 20 years and needs to fulfill the Limited Notification requirements in order to continue her work.
The proposed application will comply with development standards of the Huntington Beach Zoning and
Subdivision Ordinance. Pursuant to the City's Limited Notification standards, you are encouraged to
review the proposed plans for compatibility issues, such as, hours of operation, noise, location and
design as appropriate. Plans are available for review and comment at the Planning Department for ten
