We are requesting a waiver of development standards, regarding the 10' set back
requirement from sidewalk for a Garage Addition to our home.
Our home is located on a cul-de-sac, which results in an irregular lot size. This results in
the distance from the sidewalk to the new garage addition of 20' and 10', when measured
in a straight line. The end of the Garage Addition, which is measured as 10'from the
sidewalk when measured in a straight line, is reduced to 9' when measured at an angle
due to the curvature of the sidewalk.
We are requesting this wavier of development standards for the 10' set back from
sidewalk for the following reasons:
• The uniqueness of the lot size (property is located on a cul-de-sac).
• The plans have been drawn, permits pulled, trenches dug, waiting to pour
foundation when this abnormality was discovered by the pre pour foundation
inspection by the City Inspector.
• Time is of the essence, as approval delay is resulting in down time for
construction.
