PROPOSSAL FOR EVOLVE
GYM INC.
Evolve Gym is a small personal training studio in the Huntington Beach area on
Warner and PCH. The services provided will be one on one training as wells as
group rates ranging from 2-4 people max in any given hour period. The studio is
roughly 1350 square feet and has minimal equipment due to the smaller size. The
hours of operation will be from Monday-Friday 6am - 10 pm and Saturday from
lam- 1230 pm. The gym will be closed on Sundays. I will be the only person there
for now, but in time would like to have one part time staff member as the business
grows.
I am submitting this application for the conditional use permit needed for my type
of business in that shopping center on Warner and PCH. I realize my square footage
only allows up to 6 parking spaces at any given time, which will never be a problem
due to the low size of the group classes. A small training gym would be a perfect fit
for the shopping center giving it more variety to the type of business currently
there.
The surrounding uses from all directions are as follows:
North: Condos/Houses by the waterways
East: Wetlands and PCH highway going towards Huntington Beach
South: Bolsa Chica state park/ Ramada Inn and a variety of beach shops
West: PCH highway going towards Seal Beach with a variety of hotels/beach shops/
restaurants/kayak rentals.
The surrounding population is a mixture of nice condos and expensive houses
across the waterways and reaches out to a higher clientele that is very suitable for
the type of business my gym requires.

This letter is to notify you that EVOLVE GYM is proposing to start a personal training
studio at 17216 Pacific Coast Hwy Huntington Beach, CA. Pursuant to Section
241.24 of the Huntington Beach Zoning and Subdivision Ordinance, the
Neighborhood Notification process is required. You may review the proposed plans
at the Planning Department , 2000 Main Street , Huntington Beach, CA, from
04/05 /2010 to 04 /15/2010, or contact the Planning Department at (714) 536-
5271 . All comments must be submitted to the Planning Department prior to the
expiration date for review of the proposal.
Under the provisions of the Huntington Beach Zoning and Subdivision Ordinance,
the action taken by the Director of Planning becomes final, unless appealed. A
person desiring to appeal the decision shall file a written notice of appeal with the
Planning Department within ten calendar days of the date for the Planning
Department 's action . The notice of appeal shall include the name and address of the
appellant, the decision being appealed, and the basis for the appeal . A filing fee shall
also accompany the notice of appeal. The appeal fee is $494.00 . The appeal period
starts at the end of the 10-day review period.
