RE: WCF @ 15744 Goldenwest St.
DATE: 12-22-04
RS called applicant (Doug Kearny) 12-22-04. Advised that the Planning Dept.
would not support approval of either design alternatives described in the project
narrative (i.e., addition of flat antennas to the existing 114' tall, non-conforming
pole or replacement of the existing pole with an 80' tall "mono-pine"). RS also
advised, more generally, that staff is unlikely to support any project which is likely
to extend the life of the existing pole and recommended that any future proposal
incorporate stealth design techniques and provide for compatibility with the
surroundings. Also suggested that the applicant consider the concept of
installing antennas on an existing light standard serving the playing field located
east of the existing mono-pole.
