The Planning Department of the City of Huntington Beach reviewed and approved your applica-
tion on July 19, 2002. Attached to this letter are the conditions of approval of your application.
You must submit this notice of action letter to the Planning and Building and Safety Departments
upon requests for Certificate of Occupancy or Building Permit.
Under the provisions of the Huntington Beach Zoning and Subdivision Ordinance, the action
taken by the Planning Department becomes final at the expiration of a ten-day appeal period. A
person desiring to appeal the decision shall file a written notice of appeal to the Secretary of the
Planning Commission within ten calendar days of the date of the Planning Department's action.
The notice of appeal shall include the name and address of the appellant, the decision being ap-
pealed, and the grounds for the appeal. A filing fee shall also accompany the notice of appeal.

The appeal fee is $255 for a single-family dwelling property owner appealing the decision on
his/her own property. The appeal fee is $865 for all other appeals.

CONDITIONS OF APPROVAL - LIMITED NOTIFICATION NO. 02-13:
1. The site plan, floor plans, and elevations received and dated July 8, 2002 shall be the
conceptually approved layout.
2. The use shall comply with the following:
a. The instruction area shall be limited to a maximum of 75% of the total occupied floor
area (745 sq.-ft.).
b. The number of students shall be limited to one per 200 sq.-ft. of occupied floor area
(five).
c. All applicable provisions of the Municipal Code, Building Division, and Fire Department
as well as applicable local, State and Federal Fire Codes, Ordinances, and standards, ex-
cept as noted herein..
3. The applicant and/or applicant's representative shall be responsible for ensuring the accuracy
of all plans and information submitted to the City for review and approval.
INFORMATION ON SPECIFIC CODE RE UIREMENTS:
1. A Certificate of Occupancy must be approved by the Planning Department and issued by the
Building and Safety Department prior to occupying the building.
2. Live entertainment is not permitted unless a conditional use permit for this specific use is re-
viewed and approved.
3. All permanent, temporary, or promotional signs shall conform to Chapter 233 of the HBZSO.
Prior to installing any new signs, changing sign faces, or installing promotional signs, appli-
cable permit(s) shall be obtained from the Planning Department. Violations of this ordinance
requirement may result in permit revocation, recovery of code enforcement costs, and re-
moval of installed signs.
