Dear Sir/Madam,
This letter concerns the above-referenced permit application. We received the Neighborhood Notification Form from Art
Kent of Kent Architects and we have reviewed the plans in your office. We would like to have it laced on the record that
we not have an ob'ection to the construction of the wall althou h it does not conform to the Cit 's code.
However, because the exterior wall (which was already constructed, although not yet covered with dry wall) is not the
requisite distance from the alley between our back parking lot and said property, drivers utilizing our church parking lot
routinely run the risk of backing into cars which are illegally parked adjacent to said non-conforming exterior wall. Also,
when cars are illegally parked there, it impedes the ability of visitors to our property to utilize the alley in order to get to our
parking lot. This would be our main concern regarding a wall that is non-conforming to code. Vendors, contractors and
visitors to Lloyd Properties-already park in the alley on a daily basis. Many times there are multiple vehicles parked there
simultaneously. Therefore, we have had difficulty even gaining access to our parking lot at times, and have had
congregants pull into the alley, only to have to back their vehicles all the way out onto the street again to go around to the
Crest Street alley access. Especially with some of our elderly congregants who drive smaller vehicles, we're very
concerned when they have to back out onto Palm Avenue because access to our property is blocked by illegally parked
vehicles visiting Lloyd Properties. We want to emphasize: this happens on a regular basis, so this is not a casual concern
for our church. We're very concerned about peoples' safety and the potential for vehicles getting damaged due to the
illegally parked vehicles at Lloyd Properties.
For this reason, we would like to request that Lloyd Properties be required to paint a red "No Parking At Any Time" zone
directly onto the pavement for the full length of the non-conforming exterior wall. We'd also like assurance from Lloyd
Properties that they will actively enforce this parking prohibition with their residents, visitors, vendors and contractors to their
property.

This letter is to notify you that Lloyd Properties, is proposing to construct a non
conforming exterior rear wall at 714 Main street Huntington Beach, CA. Pursuant to
Section 241.24 of the Huntington Beach Zoning and Subdivision Ordinance, the
Neighborhood Notification process is required. You may review the proposed plans at the
Planning Department, 2000 Main street, Huntington Beach, CA, from the 25th of January
2010 to the 8th of February 2010, or contact the Planning Department at (714) 536-5271.
All comments must be submitted to the Planning Department prior to the expiration date
for the review of the proposal.
Under the provisions of the Huntington Beach Zoning and Subdivision Ordinance, the
action taken by the Director of Planning becomes final, unless appealed. A person
desiring to appeal the decision shall file a written notice of appeal with the Planning
Department within ten calendar days of the date of the Planning Department's action. The
notice of appeal shall include the name and address of the appellant, the decision being
appealed and the basis for the appeal. A filing fee shall also accompany the notice of
appeal. The appeal fee is $409.00 for a single family dwelling property owner appealing
the decision on his/her own property. The appeal fee is $1,063.00 for all other appeals.
The appeal period starts at the end of the 10-day review period.
