This also is the consensus of the Planning Department'. RECOMMEND THE APPLICANT WITHDRAW HIS APPLICATION VOLUNTARILY OR BE DENIED BY THE BZA. Mr. Wilson addressed the Board and stated that he proposed to use the front 1/3 of the building for display and sale of antiques, with the other 2/3 of the building to be used for stripping furniture. He stated . that":hile he would not like to divulge his formula `that the products us.,-3 ,.were non- flammable. He stated that a represents; ive of the`,ire Department had been in contact with him and had verified this after calling the chemical company in Compton, California to determine..the chemicals to be used. He stated that there would be absolutely no odors connected with the stripping process.. Mrs. Hicks stated that she had personally made a trip to inspect the applicant's E facilitie's in Redondo Beach and had found nothing objectionable ar,,,d that she could see no objection to the stripping process which will`be. canducied in the back of the facilities. The applicant stated that he planned to have two employees full time and one employee half-time. It was the consensus 6f the., Board that more time should be allowed to contact Fire Department tos:;obtain more inf:armation on chemical content ofproposed process. Mr. Bob Baker, partner of the applicant, and Ms. Doris Hicks, owner of the building, were present. Mr. Jim Gerspach, representative from the Huntington Beach, Fire Department, was present and addressed the Board, stating that the chemicals to be used in furniture stripping process were non-flammable and met with the approval or the Fire Department. The Board noted that an Exemption Declaration had been filed and withdrawn by the Environmental Review Board because it was not necessary. Further Board discussion followed.
