HomeMy WebLinkAboutAdministrative Permit APX2012005 - Project DescriptionRECEIVED March 31, 2012 To Whom It May Concern: APR 02 2012 Dept. of Planning & Building This letter is to notify you that I, Sara Shirazi am proposing to operate a Large Family Daycare at 4952 Maui Circle. This permit will allow me to provide home day care for up to 14 children. I am a certified Montessori Teacher with 30 years of experience. I currently have a license for 8 children & have been providing childcare services since May 2011 , Monday - Friday from 6.30 am to 6:00 pm. The current enrollment consists of 2 infants, 4 between 2-4 years & one 6 years old that I am home schooling. The children are always supervised & have specific time to play outside in order to reduce the noise impact. In the morning, the hours of outside play are approximately 10:30 am to 11:00.am. In the afternoon, children are outside between about 3.30 pm and 4:00 pm. Most of my home windows have double pane & there is also a six feet high fence along the property line which provides for sound attenuation The traffic impact is minimal as the parents come for their children at staggered times throughout the day & that there is ample space on the existing driveway for 3 cars for drop-off & pick-up. My vehicle is always parked in the two car garage and any employee coming to the residence to assist in the day care operation shall be provided with a parking space in the garage or on the driveway. There are no signs advertising the daycare service either on or off the premises. The square footage of my home is 1,787 with 735 Sq.Ft of indoor & 1,569 Sq.Ft of outdoor play area & the property has not been furnished, or decorated for the purpose of conducting the day care use in such a manner as to change the residential character and appearance. I own this home & it is my principal place of residence since June 1997. The daycare use is clearly incidental & secondary to the primary use of the property as a residence and does not in any way jeopardize the value, health, safety & welfare of the neighborhood & the environment.
