The referenced project objective is to create an additional forty (40) parking stalls to the
existing parking lot located adjacent to the Hoag Health Center at 19582 Beach Blvd. The
proposed design will also increase the main site access width to 24' clear, and will add a
new pedestrian access sidewalk from the street sidewalk to the building main entrance to
meet all current codes and regulations. Additional site lighting is also included. The new
design will match to existing design and layout.
The total square foot area in this renovation project is approx. 27,500 which will include
new concrete curbing and gutter and landscaping to best match existing design. The
additional parking will increase users' ability to park within a closer proximity of the
health center and will ease overcrowding for both users and employees. The Hoag Health
Center is open 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM M-F. Approximately 60-70 full and part-time
employees work at the referenced location throughout the regular business week. The
surrounding areas to the referenced buildings include a pet cemetery to the north, a
vacant lot to the east, Beach Blvd to the west, and a strip center mall to the south.
To the best of our knowledge the Hoag Hospital Health Center is not located within a
Hazardous Waste and Substance site pursuant to Section 65962.5 of the Government
Code.
