This letter is to notify you that after serving the Huntington Harbour community for 18
years at 4952 Warner Ave., #231, the Kumon Math and Reading Center of Huntington
Harbour is proposing to relocate to 16105 Bolsa Chica St., Huntington Beach, CA. The
Kumon Math and Reading Center of Huntington Harbour is a franchise business and
Kumon North America, Inc. is the franchisor. Kumofl, North America, Inc., is part of the
North American group of the Kumon Education Institute. The Kumon Education
Institute provides supplemental educational services in more than 40 countries and ••• • • •
teaches more than four million children worldwide. There are about 1300 Kumon MiOi :

Under the provisions of the Huntington Beach Zoning and Subdivision Ordinance, the
action taken by the Director of Planning becomes final, unless appealed. A person
desiring to appeal the decision shall file a written notice of appeal with the Planning
Department within ten calendar days of the date of the Planning Department's action.
The notice of appeal shall include the name and address of the appellant, the decision.
being appealed, and the basis for the appeal. A filing fee shall also accompany the notice
of appeal. The appeal fee is $409.00 for a single-family dwelling property owner
appealing the decision on his/her own property. The appeal fee is $1063.00 for an other
appeals. The appeal period starts at the end of the 10-day review period.

TEMPORARY USES
The purpose of this memo is to clarify the requirements for temporary uses, pursuant to Section 241.20 of the Zoning and
Subdivision Ordinance (ZSO). Temporary uses, in conjunction with existing uses, which are (a) incidental and
customary to the primary use and which occur in an area designated and intended for the use (i.e., not in a parking lot),
and/or (b) previously authorized by a prior entitlement, do not require a TAP, AP or TUP. Temporary uses shall be
further regulated by any applicable provisions of any specific plan and any applicable provisions of ZSO Chapter 245 -
Coastal Development Permit.
The following table identifies temporary uses requiring a TAP, AP or TUP:
