NOTICE OF FILING STATUS
Application : Administrative Permit No. 12-009 (BLUEWATER PRIVACY GATES)
Applicant: Don w. Maisel, 17082 Bluewater Lane, Huntington Beach, CA, 92649
Request : To permit the installation of two privacy gates at entrance points north and
south on Bluewater Lane off Coral Cay. Administrative Permit request
includes fencing, pilasters and pedestrian gates.

Dear Mr. Maisel:
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Planning Department has reviewed your Adinistrative
Permit application received and dated August 27, 2012 and has determined the application to be
incomplete. The following information and/or corrections are requested in order for the Planning
Department to deem your application complete and continue the review process of your
application:
MINIMUM APPLICATION RE UIREMENTS:
The following items are necessary to deem your application complete:
1. Provide a detailed drawing illustrating the Public Right of Way in relationship to the
required 20 foot onsite vehicle stacking area.
2. Provide a detail on the placement of the call box in relationship to the 20 foot
stacking area.
3. Provide a detail of required onsite turing radius to allow a vehicle to exit should they
not enter the complex.
4. The proposed fencing, gates and pilasters exceed the permitted height of 42 inches
within the 15 foot front yard setback. Exceeding the permitted height requires a
Conditional Use Permit and Coastal Development Permit from the Zoning
Administrator (Fee Schedule Attached). Your options are as follows:
a. Reduce the height the walls and pilasters to 42 inches

b. Retain the proposed height and location and apply for a Conditional Use
Permit and Coastal Development Permit.
c. Relocate wall and pilaster outside of the front yard setback, which permits you
to construct at the proposed heights.
5. If parking is lost or relocated as a result of the relocation of the gates, then a parking
matrix must be provided to demonstrate compliance with the parking requirements in
effect at the time of issuance of building permits.
CODE RE UIREMENTS:
Will be mailed under separate cover. Requirements will be from Fire and Public Works
Departments.
Please submit the above-noted information and/or corrections as soon as possible in order for the
Planning Department to continue the review process of your request. Please note, additional
comments and concerns may be generated upon receipt of the requested information. Also,
completion of the corrections and/or the submittal of the additional information does not
presume approval of the application requested.
