HomeMy WebLinkAboutAdministrative Permit APX2014012 - Project DescriptionAugust29,2014 DearHuntingtonBeachPlanning&BuildingRepresentative, Denise,mywife,andIaresubmittinganAdministrativePermittoexpandourexistinghallway thatconnectsthefrontandbackquartersofourhomelocatedat30912thStreet,Huntington Beach,CA92648.Theexpansionwillincludeahallwaytoabackbedroomaswellasan enclosedstaircasethatwillleadfromthesecondfloortoathird-floorrooftopabovetheback bedroom.Thehallwayislocatedbetweenthefrontandbacksectionsofthehouseovertheback patio. Theenclosedstaircasewillreplaceanoutdatedexternalspiralstaircasethatconnectsthatpatio, secondfloorandthird-floorrooftop.Wefeeltheenclosedstairwaytothethird-floorrooftopwill besaferforourfamilyandfriendstoenjoytheSouthernCaliforniasunsets. Thehallwayexpansionisestimatedtoadd110squarefeettoourhome'stotalsquarefootageand sitefootprintandexceedthecurrentlotcoveragebyapproximately6percent.Therewillbeno commercialuseassociatedwiththisimprovementandwillstrictlybeusedforfamilyfunction andenjoyment.Oursingle-familyhomeiscurrentlyborderbytwo-storyapartmentcomplexesto thenorthandsouthandsingle-familyhomestotheeastandwest. Wearealsogoingtoremoveanexternalsecondfloordeckofapproximately80squarefeetthat extendsoutoverthealleybehindourhouse.Thecurrentdeckhasseveretermitedamageand thereforenecessitatesremoval.
