Denise,mywife,andIaresubmittinganAdministrativePermittoexpandourexistinghallway
thatconnectsthefrontandbackquartersofourhomelocatedat30912thStreet,Huntington
Beach,CA92648.Theexpansionwillincludeahallwaytoabackbedroomaswellasan
enclosedstaircasethatwillleadfromthesecondfloortoathird-floorrooftopabovetheback
bedroom.Thehallwayislocatedbetweenthefrontandbacksectionsofthehouseovertheback
patio.
Theenclosedstaircasewillreplaceanoutdatedexternalspiralstaircasethatconnectsthatpatio,
secondfloorandthird-floorrooftop.Wefeeltheenclosedstairwaytothethird-floorrooftopwill
besaferforourfamilyandfriendstoenjoytheSouthernCaliforniasunsets.
Thehallwayexpansionisestimatedtoadd110squarefeettoourhome'stotalsquarefootageand
sitefootprintandexceedthecurrentlotcoveragebyapproximately6percent.Therewillbeno
commercialuseassociatedwiththisimprovementandwillstrictlybeusedforfamilyfunction
andenjoyment.Oursingle-familyhomeiscurrentlyborderbytwo-storyapartmentcomplexesto
thenorthandsouthandsingle-familyhomestotheeastandwest.
Wearealsogoingtoremoveanexternalsecondfloordeckofapproximately80squarefeetthat
extendsoutoverthealleybehindourhouse.Thecurrentdeckhasseveretermitedamageand
thereforenecessitatesremoval.

September9orcontacttheDepartofPlanningandBuildingat(714)536-5271.All
commentsmustbesubmittedtotheDepartmentofPlanningandBuildingpriortothe
expirationdateforreviewoftheproposal.
UndertheprovisionsoftheHuntingtonBeachZoningandsubdivisionordinance,the
actiontakenbytheDirectorofPlanningandBuildingbecomesfinal,unlessappealed.A
persondesiringtoappealthedecisionshallfileawrittennoticeofappealwiththe
DepartmentofPlanningandBuildingwithintencalendardaysofthedateofthe
DepartmentofPlanningandBuilding'saction.Thenoticeofappealshallincludethe
nameandaddressoftheappellant,thedecisionbeingappealed,andthebasisforthe
appeal.Afilingfeeshallalsoaccompanythenoticeofappeal.Theappealfeeis$494.00.
Theappealperiodstartsattheendofthe10-dayreviewperiod.
