Hopkins Director of Public Works SUBJECT: Approve and authorize execution of an agreement with Southern California Edison, granting an easement on City owned lots occupied by the Warner Avenue Fire Station and the adjacent parking lot due to construction of the Warner Avenue Gravity Sewer and Lift Station C project, CC-1370 Statement of Issue: It is necessary to grant an easement to Southern California Edison (SCE) for their relocated infrastructure, due to the City's construction of the Warner Avenue Gravity Sewer and Lift Station C, project CC-1370. Financial Impact: This agenda item has no financial impact. Recommended Action: Approve and authorize the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute a "Grant of Easement" agreement with Southern California Edison, due to construction of the Warner Avenue Gravity Sewer and Lift Station C located on the City owned lots APN 178-651-30 and APN 178-651-06. Alternative Action(s): Reject the easement agreement and provide staff with alternative action. Analysis: On August 19, 2013, Council awarded the Warner Avenue Gravity Sewer and Lift Station C Project CC-1370. Construction of the proposed Lift Station C requires the relocation of an existing SCE underground service, therefore, an easement for the relocated service is necessary. Environmental Status: The Warner Avenue Gravity Sewer and Lift Station C Project CC-1370 has been issued a Coastal Development Permit from the California Coastal Commission, and an approved Mitigated Negative Declaration form the City of Huntington Beach Zoning Administrator.
