Manning on Chairman Drew 'appointed Trustee Manning to act with Fin . Con,, pt .him on Finance Committee and investigated all the Demands . . Adjourned to Because of the absence of two of the members of the Tuesday. Engineer Sumner presented rough sketch and report of I" report on) cost of Municipal Camping Ground which was approved with Municipal slight modifications and was instructed to draw up reg- Camping ular plans and .specif icat ions so that bids could be advertised Ground . for. C .C.Harris , Clerk presented letter received from C. C. Harris in Road Oil . regard to a load of Road, Oil which had been sent to H. R. ! and unloaded hot into a tank partly filled with rain water �1 which caused the oil to boil out of Tank, copy of letter i from Mr. Spencer in regard to this was also read , the wat'ttr was referred to the Street Supt , for report , Glenn Edger- Clerk also presented correspondence with Glenn Ed- ton , Gas gerton in regard to a Gas Range which Mr. Edgerton had Range . charged against the city . No action. 1001 Fire Hose.. Matter of box coot ain ing 100 ft . Fire Hose from the C.C.C.F ,H.Co . C . Ce C. Fi.re Hose Co , of 'Canton Jet . Mass . was also { Canton Jot ,Massdiscussed . No action . Tree planting . Subject of Tree Planting was again brought up and the Clerk write Clerk was instructed to communicate with Park Coiiwiission 11 letters . or City Forester at each of Long Beach, San Diego, Santo, Monica and Redondo , for inforwation as to trees most suit- able , method and plan of planting , etc . Carried . Atty.advises City Attorne ywas questioned in regard to matter of � rel Park Com.. Park Commission and advised that such could not be created and T rees under the charter of a sixth class city, but that in the under Imp . matter of planting trees under the Vrooman Act he advised L. Act . that the proceedure , passing Resolution or Ordinance of j Intention, hearing protests was much the same as for - other e I improvements but that action could be started by the Board but could be protested out by a majority of the frontage , i the charge would be made for five years care for trees and would be added to Tax Rill and collected as but in addition to other Taxes , ln_ ; .th.ersame manner as charges for cleaning lots , Car service . Matter of car for workers in Ship-yards was brought up Clerk to write .and Clerk was instructed to take up with P. E. Ry.Co .,�, Harbor Ponds Newport Harbor Pond Election was brought up and Clerk Clerk to write .was instructed to write to the Supervisors in relation ,3 thereto , advising them as to the favorable attitude of this Board.
