Trustees 'present Vavra, Manning,' Cha�nin, Drew and Decker. i Minutes. Minutes of March meeting read and approved. Officers Reports of Health Officer , City Clerk , Treasurer , reports . Sewer and 1.3uilding Inspector , City Forester , Recorder , !j South Coast Imp. Assn, were presented and on Diction by Trustee Drew seconded by Trustee Planning were accepted and {� ordered placed on file , 4 St reet Supt , made verbal report . Carried . • I ` Road 0il from Supt . of Streets tirade report on load of Road Oil received C ,C.Harris . from C. C. Harris as being absolutely worthless for- use in condition in which it was left by the driver and the Clerk �'.. reported having written to Harris the full particulars and having received bo reply . Ringlets Pingles petition, It appearing that the city had no petition. title to the land upon which Mr. Single wished to move , so I far as determined , the city deferred all action. until City Attorney could give a decision on ownership of land. S.C. Imp.Assn. I deferred , South Coast Imp. Assn. A request for further support was presented but action deferred . Flush Tanks Flush Tanks . the Surlt , of Sewers made a report on the matter of Flush Tanks 'frow which it appeared that two were connected up to dead lines , this shatter was referred back with authority to take up matter of equitable refund with the Huntington Reach Water Company . Janitress pay. Janitress- Pay , uu:mer coi;ing on necessitating the con-' scant attention of the Janitress at Comfort Station it was Moved by Trustee Chapin seconded by Trustee Nanning that the the pay be raised $5.00 to $20 ,00 per month. Carried . Walnut Ave , Quincy and Ind-- ianapolis Sts , probably two days on each and it was moved by Trustee Manning seconded by Trustee Chapin that the Street Supt . be authorized to complete the work as outlined . Motion put and carried. t� Talbert Supervisor Talb6,rt was present and indicated that he suggests had something to say and he spoke on the subject of making systemat is a common fund for the purpose of systematic advvmt icing in Advertising . So , Cal , cities' which are now receiving a flock of Tourists from: the East the most of whore have never heard of Huntington O • Beach, No action was taken. Lights on Trustee Fanning brought up matter of lights on Delaware .Delaware Av. Ave . and requested that a 'light be placed at each of the 4 � corners on Delaware Ave . viz: Geneva, Hartford , Indianapolis and Joliet and Trustee Chapin spoke of the need of one at Hunt ington and Indianapolis and it was made a motion by Man- ning , seconded by Trustee Chapin that the Gas . Supt . have poles placed at the four corners mentioned on Delaware and also , if Edison Compagp could connect with it , the one on Huntington and Indianapolis , Motion put and carried. � San Tank. Septic Tank: 'Moved by Trustee Drew , seconded. by Trustee have it Manning that Mr. Sumner be employed to investigate the septic inspect ed . tank to see if it 'needs cleaning and report . Iulot ion put and carried. Clerk was instructed to write to Mr. Sumner . Deed for Quadruplicate Deed received from the So . Pac . Co. for crossing , the Right-of-way for Coast Roulevarde across their line on Coast S. Esly extension of Ocean Ave , and it was moved by Trustee Boulevarde . Drew , seconded by Trustee Manning that Clerk have deed record -ed and advise S. P. Co . Motion put and carried . Requisitions Motion made by Trustee Drew seconded by Trustee Manning for all that Clerk be instructed to get a- supply of requisition blanks Merchandise , and that no merchandise be purchased except upon -requisition signed by one of Committee of that Department and that Dealer attach such requisition to his invoice of goods when making Demand on city. Motion put and carried. Camping Gdds3 Camping Ground: Moved by Trustee Drew seconded by , Com. to Trustee Manning that a committee be appointed to confer with confer the Chamber of Commerce with advice that proposed site had with C.of C. been abandoned and ask for new suggestion. Motion put and carried . President appointed the Board -as a coi-mrittee of the whole. Also advised that Chamber of Comi-tierce would meet on I Thursday of this week. ,Demands The Demands having been approved by Finance Cora. it was II allowed . moved by Trustee Manning seconded by, Trustee Drew that they be allowed, Demands as follows: Mrs. E. Apl . 14, 1919 . ` ` Adjourned Pursuant to adjournment of April 7th, 1919, the Board of I regular . Trustees met and were called to order at 8 oclock p.m, by President Vavra. j. Roll -all . Trustees present Vavra, Drew and Manning . Absent , Chapin and Decker. Agreement with Memo . of agreement proposed by. the Engineering firm of � Olmsted and Olmsted and Gillelen in regard to investigating and submitting Gillelen to report on Gas System was presented by their representative , Investigate Mr, Berkeley, and was read to the Board, and it was Gas System and report . Moved by Trustee Drew, seconded by Trustee Manning that f Signed by the city enter into the proposed agreement and that the Pres►- President ident of the Board and the City Clerk be authorized to sign and Clerk . same for the city. Carried . ! New site for Recommendation from Committee of Chamber of Coi merce', j Camping T . B. Talbert , H. T . Dunning and F. E. Nilson, of new site ! Ground . for Camping Ground, under the bluff from 6th to 9th St was " Recommended presented and it was Moved by Trustee Drew seconded by Trustee Manning that Laid over. the recommendation be' accepted and laid on table for one week, that the matter be given all the publicity possible and citizens given chance to object . Carried . Rids t o be Trustee Drew reported that the railing of the Pier was secured on becoming rusty in spots and it was moved by Trustee Manning, Painting Pier Seconded by Trustee Drew that the city ask for . bids on the Railing . labor of painting the railing and that the city furnish the material . Put and carried . Clerk to City Clerk was instructed to secure bids on labor and secure . quotations on Bitumat is Paint such as is used by the Holly p Sugar Co .
