Board of Trustees met in regular session and was calbed to order by President Vavra, i Roll call . Trustees present Andrews , Manning , Drew , Vavra, i Trustee Chapin still on sick list . Minutes approved . Minutes of June meeting read and approved . i Reports of Reports of City Treasurer, Clerk , Recorder , Building & Officers & Plumbing Inspector, Forester, Gas Dept . and. from the South others . Coast Imp, Assn, were read and on motion by Trustee Drew sec- onded by Trustee Manning were accepted and ordered placed on j file , i ,Neff ner & Communication from Secre;ktay of Board of Library Trustees Eader re- advising of the expiration of the terms of Trustees Heffner appointed and Eader and requesting their re-appointment and it was moved Library by Trustee Drew seconded by Trustee-.Manning that the same be � Trustees . reappointed for the ensuing term, Carried. White Is Request from Mr. B. S. White for renewal of Pool Room Poolroom License was read and it was moved by Trustee Drew seconded License , by Trustee Manning that the request be granted. Carried. Fire Hyd . The following bids were read by the City Clerk for paint-.;- Cook to ing the Fire Hydrants; Paint . W . M. Hodge , .$36. 50; F. G. Cook , $5 5.90 and Al . Clark 35,90 $68. 50and it was moved by Trustee Drew seconded by Trustee Manning that the City Clerk be authorized to -enter into an agreement with Mr. F. G. Cook for the painting of the Plugs i with two coats White Lead and Zinc for the sum of $5 5.90 as specified in Bid submitted. Carried. oDIV Ord .closing An Ordinance pursuant to Resolution No . 524 adopted on Streets , the 5th day of May , 1919 , for the closing of a portion of First Yorktown St and the Streets and alleys in the present Block j Reading. 1014 except those shown in the map of Tract No . 68 as record- ed in Book 10 Page 12 of Miscellaneous baps , Records of Orange County , was read for the first time . t H. Co, A communication from the Huntington Beach Company was Opt ion on presented by the City Attorney , this communication embodied Pavilion an option to the city for a period of 90 days from July 7th, � Site , 1919 on that portion of the Ocean frontage 100 ft . on each side of the Municipal Pier for $75.00 per front foot , pay- vent to be made either in Municipal Bonds or Cash, the city agreeing to erect thereon a pavilion to cost not less that $50,000.00 construction to be completed on or before Mar .1st , 1920. and it was moved by Trustee Drew seconded by Trustee Manning that the communication aontaining option be accepted and placed on file . Carried. Reso, 328 Resolution No . 328, being a Resolution of Intention to Intention call a Bond Election to vote on the proposition of issuing t o call Municipal Bonds in the sum of $40,000.00 for the purpose of t Special constructing a Gas Distributing System was read and on mo- Election. tion by Trustee Drew seconded by Trustee Manning was passed Gas System, and adopted by the following vote,; ?fonds . Absent , Chapin, Treasurer It was moved by Trustee Drew seconded by Trustee Manning authorized that the City Treasurer be authorized to dispose of Govt . sell bonds . Bonds as necessaryto take care of warrants . Carried. Advertising Mr. T . B. Talbert was present and was invited to present scheme by whatever was on his mind and he at once advised the Board of pooled the movement on foot being promoted by the South Coast Imp. � resourees Assn. to pool the funds of the Coast towns in a campaign of South Coast advertising, the total amount to be raised being $8,500.00 Towns . and the method to be used in raining and spending the money, $8, 500 .00 the Board could not at this time take any action on the i matter but were favorable to the proposition, - I i i 1 July 7th, 1919 -- 2 .
