Roll call ., Trustees present Vavra, Andrews , Manning , Chapin and Die ew Gen . Gas Light Communication from the General Gas Light Co. in regard Co . old to an old account , Apl . 8 , 1918. $65.55 was read and on account , motion by Trustee Chapin seconded by Trustee Manning the Clerk was instructvd to refer the matter back and ask for proof of delivery. Carried. I Stipulation Communication from the City Atty of Santa Ana enclosing for distributio%OPY of a Stipulation for distribution of Motor Vehicles of Mot Ott fines collected by Justices of the Peace and deposited with Vehicle the County Treasurer,and it was moved by Trustee Manning fines . seconded by Trustee Drtw that City Attorney be instructed to sign stipulation, Carried Nutt resigns Resignation of Chas . R. Nutt of position as City Elec- Electrician . trician was read and on motion by Trustee Manning seconded R . L. Ross . by Trustee Chapin was accepted . appointed. Moved by Trustee Chapin seconded by Trustee Manning that Mr. Roy . L. Ross be appointed C(bty Electrician to fill the vacancy . Carried . Carried, Engineer . Clerk instructed to so advise Sumner & McMillan. Mrs , E.I .Ford Request from Mrs. I. E. Ford for Soldiers Exemption on asked for her property in this city not having ruade the necessary exemption application for sage at the right time , the matter was re-- as widow of ferred to the City Attorney who rulied that the city could t- soldier . not refund taxes unless it could be shown that the city No error of officials had made an error , in this case the error being . Assessor., the applicants own nothing could be done and it was moved by Trustee Drew seconded by Trustee Manning that the Clerk be instructed to so advise the appli cant . Carried . I Bids & Quotations The following bids and quotations were received on the Gas System. installation of the Gas System: Quotation from Crane & Co. on fittings with the advice that no price could be quoted on pipe . Bid on work f rom 'Thos . Haverty of 454,987 . enclosing Certified check for 3 ,800.00. '?id on work from R. F. Ware , of $15.750. enclosing Certified check for $1 ,575.00 and it was moved by Trustee Drew seconded by Trustee Andrews. that bids be referred to Engineer for analysis to report .back to the board. Carried . Clerk to Moved by Trustee Drew seconded by Trtstee Manning that re-advertise . Clerk be instructed t.o readvert ise for bids .for pipe . Carried. Some 2nd hand Mr. Berkley reported that his Engr . had located some 3" pipe used three inch pipe and it was moved by Trustee Drew second t,o be -ed by Trustee Andrews that a committee of the Board be ap- invest igated , pointed to inspect the second hand pipe . Carried . The 8ha adman appointed Trustees Manning and Andrews as such -committee. "Bid good to Mr. R. F. Ware being present said that he could let his Dec . 15, 1919 .' bid stand until Dec. 15th, 1919 . r Mr. Berkley to report next Monday eve . Committee it was moved by Trustee Drew seconded by Trustee Chapin that they be allowed. Carried , M : E. grate , 50.25; F . W. Parcel , 12.00 CO A. Creamer, 2 .30; B. V . Lindsley , 7 .50 John Foster, 6 .00. Sidewalk on Street Superintendent advised that there was 821 5" of 6th St . need sidewalk on 6th Street that should be repaired on account of repairs , being broken up by Tree roots th%s is report on letter from Mr. A. E. Thomas read to the Board on Nov. 3rd. And it was Ownnne to be moved by Trustee Drew seconded by Trustee Chapin that the notified. Street Supt . be instructed to notify owners in writing to fix the sidewalk or city would do it at owners expense . Carried. Depression Street Supt. also reported that there was a low spot Geneva and at the corner of Geneva and Delaware that should be drained Delaware to and would like engineer to give grades to determine the , be drained . easiest and best way and it was moved by Trustee Manning sec- onded by Trustee Chapin that , Street Supt . have Sumner and McMillan give grades to take care of water at the time they are establishing grades for the sidewalks .
