City Hall, Huntington Reach , Dec 1 , 1919 .
Regular. Board of Trustees of the City cif Huntington Beach met
in regular 'session,
Roll call. Trustees present , Vavra , Andrews, Manning , Chapin and
Drew, Absent , None .
Mr.C.R.Sumner . Mr. Sumner, Engineer engaged on Sewer Lateral in Vista
Del Mar . having some matters to bring before the Roard and
appointed desired to catch an early car regular business was deferred
City Engr . to a later hour .
The City Attorney advised that it was necessary to
appoint a City Engineer and it was moved by Trustee Manning
seconded by Trustee Andrews that Mr. Sumner be appointed
City Engineer . The motion was regularly put and Carried.
Reso. 332 The City Engineer presented Resolution No . 352 , being
approving a resolution approving and adopting certain plans1for public
Sewer -plan work in the city of Huntington Reach, to-wit ; the construc—
tion of a sanitary sewer in the alley between and parallel
to Huntington and California Avenues from Chicago to Indian—
apolis Sts . , which was read to the Board and on motion by
Trustee Manning seconded by Trustee Andrews was passed and
adopted by the following vote:
Ayes , Trustees Andrews ,Manning ,Chapin,Drew and Vavra.
Noes , None . Absent , None .
Reso. 353 The City Engr , also presented Resolution No . 555 for
approving the approval and adoption of a certain Assessment District
assessment Map, to--wi_t :A reap of the District to be assessed to pay the
district cost and expense of constructing a sanitary sewer in and
along the alley lying between and parallel to Huntington
and California Avenues from Chicago to Indianapolis Streets ,
which was read to the board and on motion by Trustee Manning
i seconded by Trustee Andreas was passed and adopted by the
following vote:
Ayes , Trustees Andrews ,Manning .Chapin .Drew & Vavra.
Noes , None . Absent , None .
Reso . 334 Also Resolution No . 334, the same being a Resolution of
Intention to Intention to construct the above described sewer, which, on
construct motion by Trustee Manning seconded by Trustee Andrews was
sewer. passed and adopted by the following vote:
Ayes , Trustees Manning ,Andrew►s ,Chapin,Drew and Vavra.
Noes , None . Absent , 'None .
Engr to It was moved by Trustee Drew seconded by Trustee Andrews
inspect that the City Engr . be instructed to inspect storm drain: at
storm drain . Ocean Ave and Main St . and report cost of installing adequate
culvert . Carried .
Minutes approved. Minutes of November meeting read and approved.
Reports of Reports of Treasurer, Clerk, Supt of Gas Dept . Building
officers . and Plumbing Inspector, Recorder, Forester , Electtician
were read and on motion by Trustee Drew seconded by Trustee
Andrews were accepted and ordered placed on file . Carried .
Pavilion. The citizens of the city being well represented the

660.00 for the purpose of improving the Ocean Front by the
construction of buildings and the acquisition of land therefor .
Motion was regularly put and carried.

City Atty to It was moved by Trustee Chapin seconded by Trustee
secure help Manning that the City Attorney be authorized to secure
on election assistance in preparing the papers for the $160 ,000.00
papers . Bond Election. Carried..
Fin.Com The Finance .Committee being uncertain about allowing !
i authorized to the Demands of Watchmen for the Fall Fair asked that the `
approve billsRoard pass upon them and it was moved by Trustee Manning .
Watchmen seconded by Trustee Andrews that the Finance Committee be.
at Fair . authorized to approve these Demands . Carried .
Vic .Creamer It was moved by-Trustee Chapin seconded by Trustee
Music Manning that the City employ 'Victor Creamer as Music In .�
Instructor , structor for the Junior Band at a salary of $50.00 per.
month. Carried .
Committee It having been reported by Mr . Berkley that the second
Discharged. hand pipe that they had learned about was entirely unsuitable
The President of the Board discharged the Committee appointed
to inspect the same .
Demands It was moved by Trustee Manning seconded by Trustee Cha®
allowed , pin that the Demands approved by the Finance Committee be
allowed . Carried .
