Regular. Pursuant to adjournment of June 13th, Board of Trustees
met in regular session.
Roll call. Trustees present, Manning, Obarr, Onson,Pndrews & Drew.
Absent None. ,
Request for Request from Ida Lyness and Florence Walton for permission
permit for to operate Refreshment Stand Corner 14th & Main Sts
Refreshment Motion by Trustee Andrews seconded by Trustee Onson,
Stand. Temporary permit be granted, Carried.
Request for Request from J. B. Hawthorne for permission to erect a
permit to erect stand on beach East of Pier near Shooting Gallery.
Stand on beach. Motion by Trustee Obarr seconded by Trustee Drew
Temporary permit be granted. Carried. tt
Ord.#217 Ordinance No. 217, being an ordinance regulating the Air
itdopted. Traffic over the City of Huntington Beach was read i +
for the second time and its adoption was moved by
Trustee Drew seconded by Trustee Onson and it was � I
passed and adopted by the following vote:
Ayes, Trustees Obarr, Onson,Andrews,Drew & Manning.
Ord. #218 Ordinance No. 218 being an ordinance amending License
Adopted. Ordinance No. 210 and changing the License fee for jl

Trustee Onson and it was passed and adopted by the

Band L. W. Tozier of Los Angeles presented proposition for Band
Concerts, Taken up later. !

H. B% Co. Communication from The Huntington Beach Company withdrew-
withdraws ing their offer to sell a portion of the dater Front
offer of to the City and it was moved by Trustee Obarr seconded
Water front. by Trustee Drew that communication be accepted and
placed on file. Carried.
So.Counties Request from the Southern Counties Gas Co. for permission
Gas Co. to to connect with their main in the ' City Limits to
supply Union supply Gas to the Union Oil Co. outside of the City
Oil Co. Limits. and it was moved by Trustee Drew seconded by
Trustee Obarr that such permit be granted with the
proviso that such service does not interfere with
quantity of gas required by the City for domestic use.
Carried.
Robt.Wright To request from Mr. Wright for lease of Grammar School
Bungalets on Park as presented to the Board at its meeting od
G. S. Park. June 13th, a rental of $8.00 per year for each tent i
or bungalet, the Camp or City to be run in a sanitary
manner and under rules approved by the Board, it was
moved by Trustee Obarr seconded by Trustee Onson that
permit be granted to erect bungalets under terms j

New Han to Application from Chief of Police for permission to employ {
be employed another man on Police Force on account of the rapid
Police ' growth of the City and it was moved by Trustee Drew
Force, seconded by Trustee Obarr that he be authonixed to
put another man on duty. Carried.
Police Dept. Chief of Police also made request that City purchase for
to have the use of Police Dept. a Touring Car and it was
Auto. moved by Trustee Drew seconded by Trustee Obarr that
Clerk be instructed to insert advertisement in News
calling for bids on a Dodge Touring Car or its
equivalent. Carried.

Tract 171 ' sented by McIntyre Bros for the approval of the City it
Approved, being within three miles of the City Limits and it was
moved by Trustee Obarr seconded by Trustee Andrews
that the Map be approved. Carried.
Band In regard to the proposition for the Band Concerts it was
Concerts. moved by Trustee Drew seconded by Trustee Andrews
that $1250. be appropriated from the Music & Promo-
tion Fund for Band Concerts and that Trustee Obarr
be appointed as a Committee of One to arrange with
Band Master. Carried.
Copyist for City Clerk advised that it would be necessary for him to
City Clerk, employ a copyist to help in getting out the Assessment
Roll and it was moved by Trustee Drew seconded by
Trustee Obarr that he be granted permission to employ
such copyist. Carried.
Attorney to City Attorney advised that there were so many applications
have blanks for permits to run pipe lines in alleys and across
printed, sheets that the City should have forms printed for
such applications, which blanks could be charged for
and it was moved by Trustee Drew seconded by Trustee
Obarr that City Attorney be empowered to have such
blanks printed. Carried.
Com, of 3 Moved by Trustee Obarr seconded by Trustee Onson that the
consult H.B,Co. Chairman of the Board appoint a committee of three to
in regard to confer with the Huntington Beach Company in regard to
restrictions on the removal of All restrictions as to the use the
Parks. City can make of the parks in order to facilitate
the removal of drilling restrictions.
Chairman on Trustee Drew proposed the following amendment which was
Committee. seconded by Trustee Onson; that the President of the
Board be appointed one of the Committee. Carried.

Proposition to Moved by Trustee Drew seconded by Trustee Andrews that- the
handle removal following proposition be submitted. to the City Attor-
of restrictions, ney for his approval, That all restrictions in regard
to drilling for oil be removed from the city provided
the consent of 51% of the actual resident property
pfrners in each block consent thereto and on the ap-
proval of 51% the block is automatically released, in
blocks where there are no resident owners the block
to be automatically released when adjoining "blocks on
three sides are released. Carried.
