Regular, Pursuant to adjournment of Sept. 19, 1921. the Board of
Trustees met in regular session,
Roll call. Trustees present Manning, Obarr, Onson, Andrews, Drew.

Bids on improve- This being the date set for the opening of bids on 2nd &
ment of -2nd, 3rd, 3rd streets, a portion of bake Avenue and the Alleys in
Lake & Alleys in Blocks 104, 203 & 204 the Clerk opened the followin

Tracts 179, Tracings of the following Tracts, being within three
186, 186 & 187 miles of the City Limits of Huntington Beach were pre-
approved, sented to the Board of Trustees for approval:
Tracts 179, 185, 186 & 187. and it was moved by Trus-
tee Drew seconded by Trustee Obarr that the maps be .
approved. Carried.
Bid of Steele The Engineer havkng figured up the totals of the bids
Finley accepted, received on the above proposed improvement it was
moved by Trustee Onson seconded by Trustee Andrews •
that the bid of Xtee$e Finley be accepted. Carried.-
Other bids Moaned by':Trus.tee Dbarr, seconded by Trustee Onson that
rejected. all other bids be rejected, Carried.
Protests on The matter of protests against the work of improving
Fifth Street Fifth Street was again brought up and the estimate
disregarded. made of cost by City Engineer was read sheafmg the
amount to be $15, 950. 00 on a frontage of 2870 feet or .
$5.56 per front foot; several of the protestants were
present and it was moved by Trustee Drew seconded by
Trustee Onson that the protests be denied; roll call -
was asked and the motion was adopted- by the following
vote : Ayes, Trustees Obarr, Onson, Andrews, Drew &
Manning, Noes. None, Absent None.
Ord. 225. to Ordinance No. 225, Ordering the City Attorney to commence,
condemn property proveedings in the Superior Court for the condemnation
on 5th St for of the necessary property for the widening of Fifth
widening. Street was read for the first time.
Permission Request from Edd Richardson for permission to conduct a
denied for Popcorn wagon in street at corner Walnut & Main St
Popcorn wagon was presented and it was moved by Trustee Drew seconded
Main & Walnut. by Trustee Obarr that request be refused. Carried.
Arrow Garage Arrow Garage presented request for permission to con-

Desires to lease 0. K. Kirkpatrick presented an agreement which he wished

k built by City to be leased to him for a period of five
years together with the privilege of selling all fish
on Pier that is caught by boats from said landing, he
to pay the City $25.00 per month for such privilege and
it was moved by Trustee Drew seconded by Trustee Obarr

that the matter be taken under advisement, Carried.
Permits to cross City Attorney presented matter of permits issued to Oil
streets with pipe Companies to cross the public streets with Pipe lines,'
lines to be issued etc. and asked that the following resolution be adopt-

siring to cross the public streets with pipe lines, etc
and to ' collect therefor a fee of $5.00 each and for-
