Reg;�ualar, The Board of Trustees was called to order at 8 oclock P.1 j
pursuant to adjournment of July 5th, 1922.
Roll call, Trustees all present with the exception of Trustee Obarre
Railing along Trustee -nson advised that the sand had washed away from
bulkhead on (lain Bulkhead under Wharf and that the city should put a
St. pier R,/W. railing along top to prevent accident and made a motion
which was seconded by Trustee Macklin that the Street
Supt be instructed to place a 2" Pipe railing from the
SlyX. Corner-of the dance pavilion southeasterly to the
end of the bulkhead. Carried. j
Hearing on Imp. The President of the Board announced that this was the
Assessment° date set for hearing protests against the re-assessment
of- the "improvement of 2nd Rio 3rd Streets, Lake Ave and
the alleys in Blocks 104, 203 & 204:
- The Clerk read a propest from Minnie V. Stout of Downey and
j Mr. Hansen made verbal inquiry as to the excessive cost
of the work. No action.

Como from Asad Communication from the Associated General Contractors of
Gen. Contractors America in regard to the various and conflicting, acts
of bum° re/ 7mp° for Public Improvement on the statute books in Cablifornia
statutes. % and urging concerted action 14y the Municipalities to have
them simplified and it ,was, inaved by Trustee Macklin seconded
by Trustee Onson that the communication be taken under adtise
-ment for future consideration. Carried.
Fire Engine This being the date on which bids for supplying the city R
Bids; with Fire Equipment were to be received the Clerk opened
and declared the following bids on Fire Engine:

Fire Hose spec-ifi- The attention of the Board was called to the fact that the

Ord. 244 First Ordinance No. 244 regulating the keeping of Registers in
reading. Lodging, Rooming Houses or Hotels and requiring the
registering of all guests was read for the first time.
Reso. #382 Resolution No. 882 Confirming the re-assessment of Improve-
Approving re-- ments onz ,pd & 3rd Streets, a portion of Lake Avenue and
assessrsent. the alleys in Blocks 1_042 203 & 204 was presented and read
and was passed and adopted by the following vote: r

Street Supt. reported on his instructions to put Play ground �
Play Mr®und equipment in order, that the equipment had been removed by
