Fire Hose specifi- The attention of the Board was called to the fact that the

Ord. 244 First Ordinance No. 244 regulating the keeping of Registers in
reading. Lodging, Rooming Houses or Hotels and requiring the
registering of all guests was read for the first time.
Reso. #389 Resolution No. 382 Confirming the remwssessment of Improve-
Approving reed ments on l'a_nd & 3rd Streets, a portion of Lake Avenue and
asscessruent the alleys in Blocks 104, 203 R 204 was presented and read
and was passed and adopted by the following vote:

Complaint was made about campers along; front near. First St.
Sanitarg conditions and it was moved by Trustee Onson seconded by Trustee
near First St.
Andrews that the Chief of Police be instructed to look
into conditions between Ocean avenue and the Ocean from
Fourth to First Streets especially Friday, Saturdays and
Sundays and report at next meeting as to Litter and Sanitary
conditions. �� Carried.
Play &round Street Supt. reported on his instructions to put Play ground i
q p equipment in order, that the equipment had been removed by
e ui agent. some one.- Mr. Anderson of the H. B. Co. reported that it
had been removed by The H. B. Co. that timbers were- rotten
and he would rather furnish new material than have old put { `
ba,pk and it was moved by Trustee Onson seconded by Trustee
Andrews, put and carried that the Street Supt be instructed
to put up Play Ground Aparatus, Huntington Beach Co. to
furnish material, .
Moved by Trustee Andrews, seconded by Trustee Onson, put and

conduct sparring or boxing exhibitions on certain dates
and the City Attorney advised the Board that this was

forbidden by Ordinance No. 141 of the City and it was
Boxing exhibitions- moved by Trustee Macklin seconded by Trustee Obarr put and
carried that regnest .be denied.
An Ordinance to Moved by Trustee Macklin seconded by Trustee Obarr that City
permit Boxing as Attorney' be instruet.ed to draw up an ordinance amending
provided by law. ordinance No 141 to permit Boxing contests as provided by
the laws of the state upon Special .permit from the Board
of Trustees and the payment into the City Treasury of a
"F fee of $5.00 for each such exhibition. Carried.
Trustee Andrews voted "No" on this motion.
Ordinance #243, Ordinance No. 243 calling a Special Election to submit

First reading. President Drew announced that the Board would hear the

Fire Engines . had submitted bids and allow each of them one-half hour
E as follows: Stutz, from 9.15 to 9.45
Am.LeFrance 9.4-5 to 10.15 and
Seagrave from 10.15 to 10.45 and after listen-
ing to these representatives it was moved by Trustee Obarr
seconded by Trustee Onson that all bids on Fire Engines be
Seagraves Tbid rejected except that of Seagraves Co. whose bid be accepted
accepted.. at amount of bid and that the Certified cheeps of the Am.
LeFrance Co. and Stutz Fire Eng Cos. be returned. Carried.
Terms. Terms of the a reement with the Seagraves Co. as follows:
Price to be 13,720.00 on the following terms: an allow-
ance of $750.00 for permission to exhibit machine at S. F.
International Fire Chiefs Convention and payments as
follows: $6,250.00 on delivery, First deferred payment
Dec, 15, 1923, $2,360.0.0; 2nd Paymen.t ,Dec.15, ik924, $2,24Q . I
Third payment Dec. 15, 1925, $2,120.00 which payments in®
elude all interest.
