Regular The' Board of Trustees was called to order at 8 P.14.
pursuant to adjournment July 11 ,1922.
Roll Call Trustees all present.
Resignation of
C .R.Nutt accepted. Moved by Trustee Macklin and seconded by Trustee O 'Barr
that resignation of City Clerk Chas. R.Nutt be accepted.
Put and carried.
W.R.Wright appointed
City Clerk Moved by Trustee O 'Barr and seconded by Trustee Macklin
that W.R.Wright be appointed to fill the unexpired
term of City Clerk®Put and carried.President Drew

City Attorney to Moved by Trustee Onson and seconded by Trustee Andrews that

Map of Tract # 311 Moved by Trustee O'Barr and seconded by Trustee Andrews
apporved that map of Tract # 311 ,be approved and accepted.Carried.
Cafe Owners file A protest signed by a number of cafe owners was presented j
protest re lunch palling attention to the unsanitary manner in which
stands etc. a number of small lunch stands were being conducted and � I
requesting that they be compelled to abate the nuisance
or close their places of business. A motion by Trustee t !
O'Barr and seconded by Trustee Onson was carried instruct-
ing the City Health Officer and the Building Inspector 1r
to enforce the ordinances covering the situation. !
II Arrow Garage to Request of Arrow Garage for permidsion to move their
blove Gasoline Pump. gasoline pump to a point nearer the door of their
garage was granted on motion of Trustee Onson seconded
by Trustee 'Macklin.
Application to erect
bill board denied A motion by Trustee O'Bar and seconded by Trustee Macklin
C .Harnois & Son was carried ,denying application of C .Harnois and Son
to erect a bill board on Lots 16 & 18 block 910 on
Main Street,and instructing the City Clerk to advise the i
applicant that no requests for additional boards will
be considered.
Plumbing Contract
apporved Contract of Ed Manning covering plumhing installed in the
comfort station being erected at theh foot of Main St. , X
was presented.President Drew was autorized to sign same
on motion by Trustee Andrew and seconded by Trustee l!
Onson.

Gas .Co. On motion by Trustee Onson and seconded by Trustee
Andrews ,the City Atty. was instructed to write a
letter to the R.R.Commission setting forth the City's
position in the matter and arrange a. conference in
Huntington Beach between the Gas Supt. of the R.R.Com, ,
the Southern Counies Gas Co . ,and the City Trustees. i

seconded by Trustee Andrews,was adopted by the follow°

Ordinance 7r245 Ordinance No .245 providing for holding boxing contests
Adopted under certain conditions was read and on motion of
Trustee O'Barr and seconded by Trustee Onsonwas adopted
by the folowing vote:

r with H.B.Co. re Mr.Gates of the Huntington Beach Company addressed the
water system ' Board with reference to purchase of the water system
by the city,and asked an expression of intention as
his company desired to give the city the first
opportunity to purchase ,before enteringmto negotiations
with other prospective purchasers. A meeting was
arranged for informal discussion,to be held at' the
office of the Huntington Beach Co . ,Wednesday afternoon
at 2 P.M. Aug.2,1922
Chamber of Commerce)Mr. Seaton addressed the Boa&d in behalf of the Chamber
requests aid in of Commerce ,requesting anoappropriation from the Music
defraying expense and Promotion Fund to be used in payment of a portion
of Old Soldiers of the expense incurred in'holing the Old Soldiers
encampment Encampment in Huntington Beach.A motion made .by Trustee
Macklin and seconded by Trustee Onson- to appropriate
$1400.60 for this purpose was carriede
$500.00 for Band . .Mr.Ed, Manning addressed the Board with reference to the
Concerts employment of a band of sixteen pieces or more to give
five Sunday afternoon concerts to be paid at the rate
of 8100.00 per concert ,same to paid from the Music
and Promotion Fund.On motion by Trustee Macklin and
seconded by Trustee Onsen,the request was granted on
condition that a suitable band. stand would be provided.

Convention O'Barr,Fire Chief Tinsley was allowed 0150.00 tp
San Francisco defray expense of trip to the Convention of Fire Chiefs
to be held in San Francisco. i
