RE: ISSUING A communication from the Realty Board of Huntington
BONDS FOR Beach was read, being copy of resolution passed by the body
PAVING OCEAN voicing approval of the plan of City Trustees to call a general
iif AVE, . election on a proposal' to issue bonds for the purpose of pav-
ing Ocean Avenue. On motion by Trustee Obarr, seconded by
Trustee Onson this com unzeation was ordered placed on file.

the Committee for the City Hall . and Auditoritum. On motion by
Trustee Andrews , seconded by Trustee Macklin, this communication
was ordered placed on file .

.ACCEPTING On motion by Trustee Onson, seconded by Trustee Obarr,
RESIGNATIOli OF the resignation of C. E. Lavering, City Treasurer, was accepted,
C.E. LAVE ,ING effective January lst, 1923.- On motion by Trustee Andrews,,
seconded by Trustee - Macklin, . Joseph Vavra was appointed City
CITY TREAS. : Treasurer, effective January lst, 1923.
BOND FOR On motion.by Trustee ' Obarr, �seconded by Trustee Macklin,
CITY TREAS-URER: City Attorney was instructed to prepare an Ordinance providing
that the City Treasurers Surety Bond be fixed at the amount of .
$25,000.00.
Mr. Gosney ,of "the Eureka Fire Hose Company, addressed
the Board in the interest of a sale of fire hose to the city. i
However, no definite action was taken at this time.
Chief of Police Tinsley made a verbal request of the
REQUETT FOR Board that a parking ,ordinance be drawn up covering Plain Street
PARING ORDI- from Ocean Avenue to Olive Street, and llth Street from Olive
NANCE• to Orange Streets. On motion by Trustee Onson, seconded by
Trustee Macklin, City Attorney was instructed to prepare an
Ordinance governing parking of vehicles along Main Street ex- ;
is tending from the Pier to Olive Street and on llth Street h between olive and Orange Streets, providing that 25' shall be reserved
from the corner -of the curb on each corner. j
ikr GRANTING EER�VIIT City Engineer Gates presented the plans of the proposed
I i TO W.H.`T'AYLOR: building on lots 7 and 8, block 113, owned by W. H. Taylor, and
on motion by Trustee Macklin seconded by Trustee Andrews, the
1 Building Inspector was authorized �o grant the permit to Mr.
Taylor.

y CROSSING AND City Engineer Gates read a communication from the
WIGWAG SIGNAL Southern Pacific Company stating that according to the �
AT CLAY STREET: Railroad Commission ruling, crossing and the wigwag signal !
at Clay Street would be installed upon the payment of 50% .�
Huntington Beach and 50% by Orange County and that the total
cost of this installation will be approximately $2400.000
The matter was referred to City Engineer Gates. in order that
he might confer with County Officials to determine what action I
they desire to take.
On motion by Trustee Macklin, seconded by Trustee
Onson, E. Jones was granted permission to cut the curb on
lot 22, block ill, #1211 Walnut Street.
On motion by Trustee Obarr, seconded by Trustee Macklin
E. A. Suter was granted permission to cut the curb . on lots
7 , 8, 9, 10, block 115, on 16th Street.
The communication of G. E. Clewett, owner of the DelMar j
Cafe , xgKx& with reference to 12 o' clock closing of dances,
which had been previously taken under advisement was again
brought up, and .on motion by Trustee Obarr, seconded by
Trustee Onson, request was denied.
j BILLS ALLOWED: On motion regularly put and carried, the bills approved
by the Finance Committee , were as follows :

Security Trust 8c Say.Bank 1154.28 ,
City Engineer Gates notified the Board that the Dewey
Building under course of construction on the corner of Olive
and Main Streets extends into the street 8" at the corner of r
Main and Olive Streets , and 6" on Olive Street at the alley.
On motion by Trustee Obarr, seconded by Trustee Onson, the
City Attorney was instructed to take whatever steps were neces-
sary to protect the public interest in this encroachment upon
city property.
