CITY HALL , January 8th, 1923.
REGULAR: Pursuant to adjournment January 2nd, 1923, the regular
meeting was called to order by President Drew, at 7 :30 p. m.

INSTALLING OF timated cost of installing a lighting system on Ocean Avenue , also

PAVING, ETC. 20' wide , and from First Street to eastern city limits 20' wide ,
ON OMEN AVE. : total cost of which was approximately $285,000.00, of which $20,000 �
was for the lighting system. It was estimated that $15,000 addi-
tional would be required for repairing portions of 17th Street
and Delaware Aven,,-Ie. It was , therefore , shown that a bond issue
of �300,000 would be necessary to cover this improvement, and
Resolution 388, a copy of which is included and mode part of these
i minutes,was passed on motion by Trustee Onson, seconded by '
Trustee Obarr, by the following vote: I '

ORDINANCE #256: Ordinance #256 amending Ordinance #226 being the ,Build- f
ir_g Ordiance and providing for the regulation of the construction.

A map of Tract 360 known as Blaylock Home Tract was sub-
mitted, and on motion by Trustee Obarr, seconded by Trustee Onson,
was approved.

LIGHT ON by i`rustee Onson, City Engineer was instructed to submit a list of
7th & QLIVE STSlocations in the city that are in greatest need of lights at this
time with a view to installing some kind of temporary standards in
order to meet the emergency. y
Building Inspector Gates submitted application of M. M.

the request was granted. )I
Chief of Police Tinsley called attention of the Board to ;
HEATING JAIL the fact thalt heating plans for the new City Hall did not provide
LND GAS SHOP for heating apparatus in the jail or 1n the gas shop, and on motion 1d
IN IJEW CITY by Trustee Obarr; seconded by Trustee Onson, the City Clerk was
HALL : instructed to advise Walker & Ei'sen, architects, that it watt the �1
wish of the Board that this apparatus be included in the plans.

8 Section 1. That it is hereby determined by the

10 that the public interest and necessity demands the acquisition,

construction and completion in the City of Huntington Beach,

California,, of the following municipal improvements, to-wit :

(1) The acquisition, construction, and completion of

certain street work, consisting of the improvement of the main

and connected thoroughfares, into and from said city and, more

iaarticularly described as the lighting of Ocean Avenue and the

paving and improvement of Ocean Avenue, a portion of Seventeenth

Street, and a portion of .Delaware Avenue in the said City of

Huntington Beach, California. '

Section 2. That it is hereby determined that the
