ROLL CALL Present: Trustees Onson, Macklin, Obarr, Andrews & Drew. i Absent: Trustees None. _,11I11MES The Clerk read the minutes for the month of April , and on motion by Trustee Obarr, seconded by 'Trustee Macklin, same were approved. l MON'TELY RE20RI-LS Reports for the month of April of the City Treasurer, I CITY OFFICERS City Clerk, City Recorder, and Building Inspector were read, and on motion by Trustee Obarr, seconded by Trustee Macklin, same were accepted and placed on file. DEFIivING TER.L:1- Communication was read from the Associated General "LOiVES'T RESPONSIBLE Contractors of America with reference to a propoped BIDDER" law defining the term "lowest responsible bidder . On motion by Trustee Andrews, seconded by Trustee Onson, same was accepted and placed on file. ' RESIGNA TION- The resignation of J. K. McDonald and Wrri. H. Naylor J.Y..'McDonald and as members of the Appraisal Committee recently appoint- ',dm. H. Taylor- ed by the Board, was presented, and on motion by 'Trustee appraisal Com. Obarr, seconded by 'Trustee Macklin, same was accepted. �.,AP TRACT #417 A map of tract #417 was presented and on motion by Trustee Onson, seconded by Trustee Obarr, usame was approved. SHELL OIL CO. Building Inspector Gates presented an application of ?'ER,-IIS'<`aIGT1 TO CbT the Shell Oil Company for permission to cut the curb CURB LOTS 1912,3 on lots 1129 & 3, Block 606. In view of the fact that Block 606. this was for the purpose of installing a gasoline filling station a,t this location, the motion was offered by Trustee Macklin, seconded by Trustee Onson that the permit be granted subject to the plans for this station conforming to the Ordinance governing the erection and maintenance of Gas Filling Stations. Rig Wiring Company as Electrical Contractors , was accepted on Company. motion by Trustee Onson, seconded by Trustee 11acklin. }ELECTRIC LIGHT Street Sliperintendent Gates reported that the Electric INSTALLED lights recently authorized to be placed at various locations in tne City were installed and were ready to be connected by the Edison people . CROSSING- Mr. Gates also reported that the Southern Pacific CLAY STREET Company will proceed at once with the construction of the crossing at Clay Streets. WIDEI�Ii* OF 5th S'T'iU;E`l Mr, Elliott, one of the property owners on 5th St. brought up the matter of the proper width width of pavement on 5th Street, stating that it was �I his understanding that it was the original intention td have a pavement 55 feet wide , with 122 feet sidewalk on each side. After referring to the original petition, it was found that it called for a b0 f t. pavement with 15 feet of walk on each side. A number of property owners were present and urged that the width be changed to 55 feet of pave- ment and 122 feet of sidewalk on each side. Legion had been granted the privilege of holding the opening event in the New Auditorium for the reason that they had been first to make appli- cation and that the Board would grant them use of the Auditorium at a later date , if they so desired.
