City Hall , October 22, 1923.
g :pursuant to adjournment, October O , 1923 the regular
re ular meeting was called to order at 7 :30 -P. by President
Drew.
:oll Call `Trustees present, Onson, IL.acklin, Andrews , Drew.
Trustees absent, Obarr.
Trustee idacklin on President Drew appointed Trustee Iiacklin to act on the
finance Gommittee finance committee. 0
` A communication from the American Legion Committee for
Trustees to ride Armistice Day Celebration at Orange , November 12th was read,
inviting the Board to take part in the parade and the Clerk
in parade Armistice was instructed to advise Major Upham of their acceptEnce and
v Day at Orange on motion by Trustee Macklin seconded by 'Trustee Onson the
Clerk was instructed to arrange to have two signs prepared
for use on the decorated auto ,painting the words "Board of
Trustees , City of Huntington Beach".
Trustee L-acklin to Trustee Macklin agreed to secure a suitable automobile
secure car for the occasion.
A communication from the Huntington Beach Athletic Club
by T. Faulkner was presented , accompanied by 4�'5.00 re-
Boxing Permit questing a permit for a boxing exhibition to be held at
214 5th Street, October 26.
' The permit was granted, on motion by Trustee Onson,
seconded by 'Trustee Andrews.
L-- A communication from Arthur Harris was read with reference
Communication: to his bill for applying the oil finish to the Auditorium
Arthur Harris floor recently.
After some discussion, on motion offered by Trustee Macklin
seconded by Trustee Onson, that the bill by I.ir. Harris be
allowed , was granted.
On motion by 'Trustee Onson, seconded by Trustee Tflacklin,
Data on cost of the Clerk was instructed to secure data on the cost of a cur-
? Curtain for Stage twin for the Auditorium stage.
Trustee Obarr arrived at 8:10 P. I:i.
Ordinance No. 265 was given second reading and passed and
Ordinance #265 adopted on motion by Trustee Onson, seconded by Trustee
passed and adopted Idacklin, by the following votes:
AYES Trustees Onson, -,iacklin, Obarr, Andrews , Drew.
NOES Trustees None .
Absent Trustees None.
On motion by Trustee Macklin, seconded by Trustee Onson ,
Contract with the President of the Board was authorized to "sign a contract
Chamberlin Company with the Chamberlin Mietal V,eather Strip Company for in-
signed stallation of wt-At*mstrips on the transoms of the upper
floor of the City Hall , for the sum of $137.00
On motion by 'Trustee Onson, seconded by Trustee Obarr
the President of the Board was authorized to sign a contract
Contract signed with the same company for striping the six windows in the
Auditorium for the sum of $62. 00
On motion by Trustee Andrews seconded by Trustee Macklin,
the President- of the Board of Trustees was authorized to
sign a con-'.ract with the Chamberlin. Metal Weather Strip
Contract signed Company for striping the casement windows of the upper
floor of the City I:ial.l for 29.5.00.

Andrews the President of the Board was authorized to

Company for striping the main entrance doors on the-
upper floor and two doors on the lower floor of the

Building Inspector Gates presented a request for
Bermit to cut burb. permission to .cut the curb on Lot 21 Block 507 by
A. I,.. Conrad , which was granted on motion by Trustee
- Onson, seconded by 'Trustee Andrews.
Ordinance No. 266 was given first reading, establishing
Ordinance #266 given the official grade on loth Street. ,
