ROLL CALL Trustees Present: Trustees Wharton, Macklin, Boster, . Drew, Ridenour. Trustees Absent: None . TINUTES Minutes of the month of July were read and approved on motion by Trustee APPROVED Macklin seconded by Trustee Wharton. REPORTS Reports of Treasurer, Clerk, Recorder and Building Inspector were read APPROVED and approved on motion by Trustee Macklin seconded by Trustee Drew. OILING & Engineer Billings reported on the matter of grading and oiling of GRADING OF Indianapolis from Delaware to Hampshire and recommending that the work be ' INDIANAPOLIS done , which was approved on motion by Trustee Macklin seconded by Trustee Boster. G.V.DART'S The surety bond of ®. V. Dart, house-mover, was presented and approved B OND APPROVE on motion by Trustee Drew seconded by Trustee Macklin. A2PLICATIONS_ Additional applications for custodian of the auto camp were read and AUTO CAMP ordered placed on file for further references. PERMIT A permit for holding amateur boxing bouts at 214-5th Street August 8, GRANTED 1924 was granted on motion by Trustee Wharton seconded by Trustee Macklin. • A petition was presented signed by various property owners on California CALIF. S'I'. Street requesting the Board to have the specifications call for Asphaltic _ > PETITION. Concrete with Topeka type top, open specifications. The petition was laid over for-consideration later in the meeting. C0171.IUNIC;cI'ION A communication from the Huntington Beach Company was read with reference H.B. CO to execution of a lease between themselves and the City covering a parCUU of land west of the bath house to be used as a childrer_s' play ground. On Motion by Trustee Boster seconded by Trustee Wharton the chairman was instructed to appoint a committee of two to confer with Mr. Lawshe , Manager of the Huntington Beach Company, with reference to the lease . The chairman appointed Trustee Boster and Trustee Drew. ORDINANCE Ordinance #272 was given second reading providing for a new schedule of #272 gas rates for the City and on motion by Trustee Macklin seconded by Trustee Boster was passed and adopted by the following vote : Ayes: Trustees Wharton, Macklin, Boster, Drew, Ridenour. Noes: Done Absent: None. Noes: None Absent: None . RESOLUTION Resolution #444 Ordering the Work on Orange Avenue from Lake Avenue to ORDERING Twenty-Third Street was read , a copy of which is on file in the office of THE WORK the Clerk, and on motion by Trustee Drew seconded by Trustee Macklin was #444 passed and adopted by the following vote : Ayes : Trustees Wharton, Macklin, Boster, Drew, Ridenour. Noes: None Absent : None . SPECIFICATION The matter of specifications for California Avenue was again brought up CALIF. AVE. and after some discussion and on motion by Trustee Drew seconded by Trustee Macklin the City Engineer was instructed to prepare plans , specifications , profiles and cross-sections for the improvement of California Street from Detroit to Geneva, with Asphaltic concrete , Topeka type top, open specifications. REPORT ON President Ridenour reported on the matter of L. T. Wells' store building L. T.1,�ELLTtS being erected on 8th Street and advised that there was nothing in the S`1'ORE ON present ordinances to prevent them -Rie0carrying out their plans providing 8Th ST. that they comply with the building ordinance. 1 Communication bearing names of three members of the Library Board was COI�Ti�2.- presented recommending the appointment of two new members , and as the LIBRARY letter had not been signed in. person, Trustee Drew seconded by Trustee RETURI''JED Macklin moved that the communication be returned for signatures which was carried.
