CITY HAIL SEPTET.,MER 8. 1924
Pursuant to adjournment September 2, the regular
Regular meeting was called to order by President Ridenour at VOOP.M.
Roll Call Trustees present: Wharton, Macklin, Boster, Drew, Ridenour.
The report for the month of August of the Building
Reports approved Inspector was read and approved.
Conference with D.W.Pontius The Clerk reported that Mr. Pontius had set the time

Communication--Parant In response to a communication from the Parent Teachers I
Teachers Asso. Association, President Ridenour appointed 6 committee of

teachers of the City schools. The committee consisted. of

Resolution #454 adopting plans and specifications for

Ayes : Trustees Wharton, Macklin, Drew, Ridenour.
Noes: Trustee Boster.

Resolution J455 declaring the intention of the Board
of Trustees to improve Orange Avenue by paying and lighting
from Lake Street to llth Street, was read , a copy. of which.
Resolution #455 is on file in the office of The Clerk and on motion -by
Trustee Drew seconded by Trustee .Iack'lin was passed And
adopted by the following vote:
Ayes : .Trustees Tharton, Macklin, Drew, Ridenour.
Noes: Trustee Boster.

Resolution #456 Adopting Plans and Sp; cifications for
an ornamental lighting system on 6th, Street from, Ocean
Avenue to Main Street was read , a copy of which is on f

Board of Trustees to construct an ornamental lighting

Ordinance #273 _Ordinance 4273 Providing for the callmng of a bond .
election was given first reading .
President Rider-our invited any one present to bring
up such matters as they desired at this time: Mr.
Rasmussun of the Church of Latter Day Saints , ir!ith -reference
to street meetings stated that the Police Department°had
Mr. Rasmussun _ asked. them to refrain_ from holding open air meetings

the . public. entertainment at the beach and had beer_ denied
the privilege 'of holding further meetings and in order to
treat all alike theyhad been included in this ruling.
After some discussion the Board moved that religious
organ -zatians, regardless ..of. creed, should be permitted to
hold street meetings on conditions that they would not
hold them at a time and place that would interfer with
other open arr .meetings.
Ordinance .#-274 Ordinance #274 creating the office of City Controller
was giver_ first reading.
Equipment for the The matter of purchasing stoves , kitchen equipment,
City Auditorium dishes and tables for the auditorium was brought up and
to . serve 250 people after some discussion as to the advisability of investing
under adviser_ent. at this time , the Clerk was instructed to secure prices
on equipment to serve 250 people
On motion by Trustee Drew seconded by Trustee Macklin
Ad j ourmnen_t the Board adjourned to 8: 00 P.1d. September 15.
