CITY HALL October 20, 1924.

Pursuant to adjournment October 14, 1924, the regular meeting
was called to order at 7:30 P. M. by President Ridenotw .
ROLL CALL Trustees Present: tifharton, Macklin,. Boster, Ridenour.
Trustees Absent : Drew.
LETTER OF THANKS A letter was read and placed on file from the Parent Teachers
FROM PARENT TFACHE.RS Association thanking the Board for their assistance at the
ASS0. Teachers Reception.
BOXING PER14IT On motion by Trustee Wharton, seconded by Trustee Macklin
GRANTED the Huntington Beach Athletic Club was granted permission to
hold an amateur boxing exhibition at 214 Fifth. Street on the
night of October 24th.
MQINTOSH GRANTED A written request was filed by R. E. McIntosh asking the
EXTENSION OF LIGHTING Board for a sixty day extension for ;the completion of his contract
CONTRACT for installation of ornamental lights on Eleventh Street which
was granted on motion by Trustee Macklin, seconded by.Trustee
Boster.
A petition was read requesting .the Board to have Palm Avenue `
improved from Main to Twenty-third Streets by paving with
WT'illite Asphaltic Concrete. After some discussion Trustee y
PETITION FOR Macklin seconded by Trustee Boster moved that the Engineer be
PAVING & LIGHTING instructed to submit plans and profiles for the area in question
PALM STREET PRESENTED at the next meeting at which time the proposed work would. be
further discussed, which was carried.

6TH STREET of Sixth Street by installation of an ornamental lighting
system in accordance with notices duly published in the Hunting-
ton Beach News , the Clerk opened and declared the following
bids;

ment until the next meeting.
This being the time for receiving aids for the improvement

Resolution #469 adopting plans and specifications, cross-
sections and profiles for the improvement of Galnut Avenue
from First to Eleventh Street was read, a copy of zh ich is on

SOLUTIONd #469 file in the office of the Clerk and on motion by Trustee Macklin
'ASSES & ADOPTED seconded by Trustee Wharton, was passed and adopted by the
following vote :
Ayes: Trustee Wharton, Macklin, Ridenour.
Noes: Boster.
Absent: Drew
Resolution #470 declaring the intention of the Board to

PASSED & ADOPTED and lighting was read, a copy of which is on file in the office
of the Clerk and on motion by Trustee Macklin seconded by

Trustee Wharton was passed and adopted by the following vote :
Ayes: Trustees Vharton% riacklin, Ridenour.
Noes: Boster.
Absent: Drew.
President Ridenour invited any one present having matters to
bring before the Board to do so at this time.
CLARENCE HIELD 11r. Clarence Hield addressed the chair asking for reconsid-

ADDRESSES BOARD Mrs. C. Frandes Clark also spoke in defense of the Police

efficient manner.
