ROLL CALL Trustees Present: Ridenour , ?:Iacklir_ Trustees Absent Wharton, Boster, Drew. itsCESS The President declared a recess until the arrival of other members TRUSTERS BO'STER Trustee Boster arrived at 1 :40 P. 1,1. l'VtiARTON ARRIVE Trustee Wharton arrived at 1 : 50 P. 1.1. The meeting was again called to order at 1: 50 P. M. Another communication from 1-dax Scher_field stating that he could JUNK i'ERMIT secure a location in. the 900 block on Main Street for his business Gi?INTED MAX if more acceptable to the Board. After discussion Trustee Macklin SCHE14FIELD seconded by Trustee Boster moved that the permit be granted which was carried . The matter of securing a lease from the Huntington Beach Company CONTROLLER for required space on the beach for play-ground equipment was brought INST. TO WRITE up and the Controller was instructed to write the Huntington Beach H. B. CO. FOR Company requesting a lease on space east of the Pier beyond the Lattice LEASE ON PLAY- House. GROUND. Huntington Beach News ISSUANCE OF WAR- the Clerk informed the Board that no written protests had been received RANT FOR 14th against the issuance of this warrant. Street Resolution #480 was then_ read approving the warrant, a copy of FSOLUTION �480 which is on file in the office of the Clerk and on motion by Trustee PASSED & ADOPT- Boster seconded by `n—tstee Wharton was passed and adopted by the ED following vote: Ayes: Trustees Wharton, Macklin, Boster, Ridenour. Noes: None Absent: Drew . TRUSTEE DREW Trustee Drew arrived at 2: 20 P. 1.1. Resolution #481 adopting plans , specifications, cross-sections RESOLUTION #481 and profiles for the improvement of Seventh Street from Ocean Avenue PASSED AND to slain Street was read, a copy of which is on file in the office of ADOPTED the City Clerk and on motion by Trustee 17harton seconded by Trustee Macklin was passed by the following vote; Ayes: Trustees Wharton, I.1acklin, Boster, Drew, Ridenour. Noes: None Absent: None Resolution #482 declaring the. intention of the Board to improve RESOLUTION #482 Seventh Street by paving and lighting between Ocean Avenue and Main PASSED AIM Street was read, a copy of which is on file in the office of the City ADOPTED Clerk and on motion by Trustee Drew seconded by Trustee Macklin was passed and adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Trustees lAiharton, 11acklin, Boster, Drew, Ridenour Noes: None Absent: None . 1 ^CESS The Chair declared a short recess at this time. e 1:34 �` � T:IIT1UTE COITTIPdUED- DECEi':TBEl� 22nd, 1924 The Board was again called to order and City Attorney Blodgett informed the Board that he had notified City Recorder ATTY BLODGET ASKS Warner that he would be disqualified in prosecuting the liquor BOARD TO APPOINT violation case against Gus Barkas for the reas3,n that he had acted a D. G. 1TVTTTLIN TO as his personal attorney in procuring bail when under the im- SERVE CITY IN CASE pression that it was a Federal case and recommended the appoint- OF GUS BARhAS ment of D. G. Wettlin of Santa Ana to act in this ^matter for the City Attorney. On motion by Trustee Drew seconded by Trustee Macklin the Clerk was instructed to notify I41r.
