ARRIVED The monthly reports of the Tr!-.easurer, Clerk, Building Inspector, Librarian_ and Advertising Agent for the month of REPORTS ?SAD AND January, and the Recorder for the first half of January were APPROVED read and approved on motion by Trustee Ma'eklin seconded by Trustee ` lia.rton_. Communication from the Orange County Builders Exchange was read, req uestin_g the Board to appropriate $100.00 to cover 011k GE COUNTY a portion of the cost of compiling a uniform building code rr � BUILDE_',?S EXCHAIJGE to be adopted throughout the County. After discussion Trustee f ASK APPROPRIATIOd Drew seconded by Trustee Macklin, moved that the Clerk be instr,,cted to write the Builders Exchange that the City of I Huntington_ Beach would be willing to pay a portion of the ex- pense up to $100.00 on the condition that the proposed code ' is adopted by this City, which was carried. A letter from the League of California Municipalities LEAGUE OF CALIF. was read with reference to the printing of proposed bills T.IUNICIP. REF. TO to come before the Legislature. A. Armitage, Advertising; T.ianager, presented the :natter of securing a page in an elaborate booklet to be put out by the Los Angeles ADV. MGR. The Board looked tn: th favor on the plan ADVERTISING. - but felt that no funds would be- available from the Music and Promotion Fund for this purpose. On motion by Trustee 1,tharton � i J �j � 1 _ 41 MINUTES CONTINUED FEBRUARY 2, 1925 seconded by Trustee MR.cklin_ the plat_ was approved provided that the Controller could find a way to properly finance the work. REPORT ON COST The Controller reported the estimated cost of painting the Auto OF AUTO FENCE Park fence and was instructed to ]purchase the material for doing, the work at an estimated cost of $250.00 including the spray pump. This being' the time for hearing protests .against- the improvement of Seventh Street from Ocean Avenue to Main Street, the President 1 HEARING PROTESTS invited those present to state their views. C. J. Andrews spoke ON SEVENTH ST. against the improvement calling attention to the fact that a peti- PROTESTS INSUF- tion had been filed some time ago signed by numerous property owners FICIE11T and in addition several letters had been signed supplementing the petition. Verbal protests' were made by Mr. Alloway, A. C. Almond and Mrs. S. T. MacLean. The protesting petitions and' all letters were then checked to, determine the area owned by protestants art it was found that it would not ea,ual 50 per cent of the area to be assessed. A motion was therefore offered by Trustee Wharton seconded by i FSOr UTION -7486 Trustee M3.cklin that the protests against the improvement of Seventh Street be over-ruled. Resolution No'; ' 486 over-ruling the protests on Seventh Street was read, a copy of which is on file in the office of the Clerk and on motion' by Trustee Drew seconded by Trustee Wharton was passed and adopted by the following vote : Ayes: Trustees Iffharton, Macklin, Boster, Drew, Ridenour. ` Noes: None Absent : None. Resolution No. 487 ordering the v,D rk on Seventh Street was read, a ca!py of which is on file in the office of the Clerk and on IZESOLUTIOTT #487 motion by Trustee Wharton seconded by Trustee Mscklin was passed and adopted.
