CITY HALL OCT013ER 13, 1925.
REGULAR Pursuant to adjournment October 5th, the regular meeting
was called to order at 7 :30. P. Ii. by President Ridenour.
Trustees present: Wharton, .Dunning, Ridenour.
ROLL CALL Trustees absent: Boster, Drew.
The President appointed€ Trustee 4Wharton and Trustee Dunning
FINAN-CE COMI-:IITTEE . to act on the Finance 'Committee in the absence, of Trustee Boster

' The Clerk read a communication signed by V. U. Brovm pro-
V. U. BRO�r�Td testing assignment of the garbage contract from G. L. Harper and
PROTESTS GARBAGE Son_ to C. S• Thomas and asked thatj.the:Board re-advertise for
CONTRACT bids. After a discussion ,Trustee,• Dunning seconded by Trustee
Wharton moved that the protest of V.. ,U.. Brown relative to the
• garbage contract be denied,. which-eras carried.
The Clerk presented the garbage contract which had been
signed by G. L. Harper and Ivan_ Harper doing business as G. L.
C., S. THOI,,ZAS Harper and Son and attached to this contract was an assignment
AWARDED GARBAGE to C. S• Thomas, this being presented for the approval of the
CONTRACT Board in accordance with the provisions of the contract. Trus tee
Dunning seconded by Trustee Wharton moved that the assignment
of the contract between G. L. Harper and Ivan. Harper doing busi-
r_ess as G. L. Harper and Son andthe City of Huntington Beach to

Oi S. Thomas be approved which was carried.
City Attorney Blodget and the Superintendent of the Gas
Department reported that they had conferred with_ the Los Angeles
CITY ATTY. REPORT representative of the Railroad Commission relative to the clause
ON GAS CONTRACT which the Southern Counties Gas Company had asked to have in-
CLAUSE serted in the Gas Contract and informed the Board that this was
a standard clause reo_uired in all Gas utility contracts as set
forth on page 72 of the Gas Service Bulletin of the State of
California.
GAS CONTRACT Trustee Wharton seconded by Trustee Dunning moved that the
CLAUSE APPROVED President of the Board be authorized to approve the clause to
be inserted in the Gas Contract between the Southern Counties
Gas Company and the City of Huntington Beach which was carried.
ORDINANCE #276 Ordinance #276 amending Ordinance #255 regulating the park-
PASSED AND AD- ing of vehicles on the streets between 2:00- o'clock A. 1i2.. and
OPTED 5:00 o ' clock A. 14. was given second reading and on motion_ by
Trustee Dunning seconded by Trustee Wharton was passed and adopted
by the following vote:
Ayes: Trustees 4'iharton_, Dunning, Ridenour.
Noes: None.
Absent: Trustees Boster, Drew.
LICE ,iSE AGREEMENT A license agreement issued by the I1arbeli to Corporation. of
'WITH MARBELITE America. to the City of Hur_tir_gton Beach was presented covering
CO ACCEPTED installation of h+Iarbelite posts on certain portions of Frankfort
Street and Acacia Street. On motion by Trustee Dunning seconded
by Trustee Wharton this license agreement was accepted.
The City Engineer presented plans , profiles .anal cross-sections
ENGINEER PRESENT- #32 New Series in two sheets now on file in the office of the
ED PLANS & SPECI- City Engineer and specifications 7-#61 providing for the improve-
FICATIONS FOR ment of certain portions of Frankfort Street, Alabama Avenue and
FRANKFORT ETC. Acacia Avenue , which were approved on motion by Trustee Wharton_
STREETS seconded by Trist ee Dunning.
Resolution of Intention No. 533 declaring the intention of

The City Engineer presented the application of D. Hallicy
for permission_ to cut the curb at 200 Frankfort Street also the

City Attorney Blodget. reported on the conference with
11'r. Frank Karr, Vice President and Chief Counsel of the
Pacific Electric Railway Company relative to :the lease irhich
they desire the City to enter into for that parcel of land
lying. betwe.en Ocean_ Avenue and the Pacific Electric tracks,
extending from Llair_ Street to Uiifthh Street.. The Clerk also
ATTY BLODGET ADVISES presented a letter from i';Ir. Karr advising the Board of his
