Regular The, regular meeting was. called to order at 7 :30 P. %I.

Roll Call o Trustees present: Wharton, Dunning, Boster, Drew, '
Ridenour.
Minutes approved The minutes for the month of December were read and
approved on motion by Trustee Dunning seconded by
Trustee Wharton.
I1onthly reports Various monthly reports were read and approved on

REQUEST of John A communication_ signed by John Wharton. vas read �

Demands approved,, On motion by Trustee Wharton, seconded by Trustee
Boster, demands numbered 5226 to 5386 , inclusive,as
shown on Clerk' s Cash Journal , having been approved
by the Finance Committee, and signed by President
of the Board, iA,ere allowed.
Magnolia Avenue be- City Attorr_ey, Blodget reported that Judge - Marks had

Thirteenth Streets, & Pacific Palisades Association, in which it was sought

Protests on A.5cessment The Clerk announced that this was the time set i�or
of Olive Ave. hearing objections to the issuance of bonds covering
the unpaid assessments for the improvement of Olive
Avenue, from First Qtreet to Twenty-third Street. He
stated that no protests had been received, excepting a
letter from Mrs. Anna A. Walbrant which was over-
ruled, on -motion_ by Trustee Drew, seconded by Trustee
Wharton.
Resolution_ # 546 Resolution No. 046, providing ror the issuance or bonds
covering the unpaid assessments for the improvement of
Olive Avenue from First Street to Twenty-Third Street
was read, a copy or which is on file in the office of
the Clerk, and on motion_ by Trustee Dunning, seconded
by Trustee Wharton was passed and adopted by the follow-
ing vote : Ayes: Trustees VMharton, Dunning, Boster, Drew
and Ridenour. Noes: Trustees None. Absent: Trustees '
None.
Bids for improvement This being the time for receiving bids nor the improve-

opened and declared the following bids, which on motion

Ordinance No. 278 . Ordinance No. 278 amending the Plumbing
Ordinance No. 228 was given first reading.
Claims of John Shenk, Ira The Clerk presented claims on behalf of John
Smith and Mrs. Rhoda Brown- Shenk, Ira Smith and Mrs. Rhoda Brown, covering
regarding new sewer line. extra expense in connection with the new sewer
line in the Eastern portion of the City on the
grounds that they had been compelled to pay main
line sewers-connection charges several years ago.
On motion by Trustee Drew, seconded by Trustee
Boster, this matter was referred to the City
Engineer for recommendation_ as to allowance.
Regarding a curfew- Trustee Boster brought up the matter of a curfew
and urged-- the Board to give serious consideration
to this matter.
