CITY HALL
January llth, 1926.
REGULAR Pursuant to adjournment January 4th, the regular
meeting was called to order at 7 :30 P. M. by
President Ridenour.
ROLL CALL Trustees Present: Wharton, Dunning,. Boster, Drew,
Ridenour.
Trustees Absent , None.
REQUEST TO CHA14GE A communication signed by Cryder and Brovrn was read ask-
NAME ON POOL HALL ing that the permit granted them for conducting a Pool
LICETISE room at 203 T,1ain Street be authorized in the name of
A. Vi. Brown who is the actual owner of the business . This
correction was approved and the. Clerk was authorized,
on motion by Trustee Dunning seconded by Trustee Wharton
to amend the license issued to read in the name of
A. W., Brown.
NEW MOTORCYCLE FOR The Controller advised the Board that he had received
POLICE DEPART.IIL+:NT a requisition froi: the .Police_ Departmal t for the pur-
chase of anew Henderson_ 110'torcycle at a cost of w285.00
and the old motorcycle now in use, and asked approval
of the Board for this purchase, which was- granted on
motion by Trustee Drew, seconded by Trustee Boster.
IMPROVEi:'ENT OF 18th The Clerk announced that this was . the time set for
REGARDING PROTESTS- hearing protests against the improvement of Eighteenth
Street fro: Ocean Avenue to Palm in accordance with the
FAILURE TO POST TJOTICES Resolution of Intention. No. 545. At this time City; . '-�-
IVITHiN SPECIFIED TIT:M Engineer .Billings informed the Board that the posting of
notices along Eighteenth Street, had ,not been completed
within the time provided bylaw and therefor he' be-
lieved that the proceedings were invalid at this time.
City Attorney. Blodge t was asked for an opinion and he
stated that in view of this fact, the Board had no
jurisdiction to proceed with this work and advised that
the proceedings be abandoned.
PROTEST BY PROPERTY The Clerk advised the Board that a protest had been
IIINERS filed r:ith him, signed by numerous property owners on
Eighteenth Street, and the, City Attorney advised the
Board that no action_ could be taken on_ this petition by
reason of the failure to post notices of Improvement at
the proper time.
Trustee Wharton seconded by Trustee Dunning moved
that the petition_ be accepted and placed on file.
PROCEEDINGS ABANDOTIED Trustee Drew, seconded by Trustee Dunning moved
that all proceedings .for the improvement of Eighteenth
_Street be abandoned on account of the failure to post
notices of improvement within the time allowed by law,
which was carried.
Ordinance No. 277 , amending Ordinance No. 226 was given
second reading and on motion by Trustee Drew, seconded by
Trustee Wharton was passed and adopted by the follow-
in- vote :
Ayes: Trustees Wharton, Dunning, Boster, Drew, Ridenour.
Noes: Trustees , None.
ORDINAlIC E' N0. 278 Ordinance No. 278 amending Ordinance No. 228 was given
second reading and on motion_ by Trustee Wharton, seconded
by Trustee Dunning, was passed and adopted by the
following vote:
