CITY HALL, March 15, 1926.
Pursuant to adjournment of March 1st , the regular meeting was
called to order at 7:30 P. M. by President Ridenour.
ROLL CALL: Trustees Present Wharton Dunning, Drew Ridenour
Roll Call Trustees absent: Boster. �
Communications from the civic' s class suggesting various im-
provements - thatL et t ers might be made in this City 'here read and on motion by
from Trustee ' Drew seconded by Trustee Wharton they were ordered placed on
C ivic' s file and the Clerk instructed to acknowledge receipt of same.
Class.
The Clerk informed the Board that the matter of removal of the
Band Stand bang stand had been called to his attention. Written notice having been ,
to be re- served by the Huntington Beach Company several months ago, therefore,
moved Trustee Drew seconded by Trustee. Dunning, moved that the Street Superint-
endent be instructed to remove the band stand and seats at once and place
the same in storage, which was carried.
Lohman Bros. The plumbing contractors surety bond of Lohman Bros. .. having
bond been approved as to form by the City Attorney, was approved on motion
approved by Trustee Drew seconded by Trustee Wharton.
The Chair invited those present, having matters to bring before
the Board, to do so at ;this time, with no response.
Trustee Drew anc,ounced at this time that there had been so much
Proposal to agitation in regard to the proposal to raise the oil drilling restrictions

filed, he proposed to offer a motion to place a proposition on the ballot
at the general municipal election to be held April 12, 1926. Trustee Drew
seconded by Trustee Wharton then moved that a proposition to amend
Ordinance #209 to remove oil drilling restrictions on the area between
17th Street and 23rd Street and the Pacific Ocean and Palm Avenue be
placed on the- ballot to be voted upon April 12th, 1926 at the general
municipal election, which was carried.
#550 Resolution No, 550 was then read which provided for placing such a
Res, proposition upon the ballot and setting forth the text of the ordinance
re amending proposed t_ o amend Ordinance No. 209, a copy of which is on file in the
Ord. #209. office of the Clerk and on motion by Trustee Drew seconded by Trustee
Dunning was -passed and adopted by the following vote:
Ayes: Wharton, Dunning, Drew, Ridenour.
Noes: None.
Absent : Boster.
Mr. Chas. P. O'Gonnor, asked if he understood correctly that the
Board pledged themselves to the opening of additional area, without
election, in the event that the vote April 12th was favorable to drilling
C. P, O� Connor and commercial production was found in the area in auestion. Trustee
re opening Dunning replied that that would be a matter for each member of the Board
add, area. to determine at the proper time but that he felt sure that such action would
be justified if the result proved that there was such a demand.
On 'motion by Trustee Drew seconded by Trustee Wharton, the Board
adjourned. adjourned,
