Pursuant to adjournment April 19th, the meeting
was; called to order at 8: 09. P. M. by President
Boster.
The council chamber not being large- enough to
seat those desiring to attend the meeting President
Boster announced that the Board. meeting would be
held in the Public Hall.
' Trustees Present: Wharton, Mitchell , Ridenour , Harris,
Boster.
Trustees Absent: None.

President Boster announced that this adjourned
meeting had been held for the purpose of discussing
oil. drilling regulations in the City of Huntington_ `
Beach and he announced that City Attorney Thedieck
had prepared an Ordinance covering this subject.
At this time the proposed Ordinance regulating
oil drilling in the City of Huntington Beach was read.
t � lAihen the reading was completed the -'resident invited
all interested parties to discuss the provisions as
set forth in the Ordinance . 1,1r. C. P. O'Connor
addressed the Board objecting to certain provisions
incorporated and suggested that he be given a copy
of the proposed Ordinance which he would submit to a
committee of interested operators and would guarantee
to submit a recommendation_ within 48 hours for the
consideration of the Board.
Mr. Wollner an oil operator in the Huntingtm.
�. Beach field. also spoke on Mr. , O'Connor' s suggestions.
Trustee Harris, seconded by Trustee Mitchell
moved that the Ordinance be laid on the table until
Friday, April 23rd , ,at 8: P. Td. which was carried .

• The ;President invited a discussion of steel
derricks and Mr. O'Connor made suggestions.
Trustee 14itchell brought up. the subject of placing
advertisements for a City Engineer and the Clerk was
y � instructed to place an ad in the Southwest Builder and
Contractor. He was also instructed to secure suitable
! flags for the Auditorium and Council Room and to have
the flag ropes repaired on the flag pole of the City
Hall grounds. p

Trustee Wharton suggested that it might be well to �
discuss, %tp�e.``,qudstion of water bearing land adjacent to
the City.. President Boster invited suggestions but'.
none were forth coming at this time.

'Trustee 111itchell brought up the subject of appoint- j
ment of a caretaker of the Camp Grounds anal after di's-
cession it was referred to the Building and Improvement
Committee .
C: The President invited citizens to discuss the
future location of the band stand and after various
suggestions were offerred in re#ard to a location on
the beach, triangular park in block 505, also 17th
. Street Nark, and considerable discussion, the matter
was referred to the dusic and .Promotion Committee.: �
The Bond of C. J. Yost, Street Superintendent bear-
ing the signatures of Sam Clapp and V411l iam Truman as
sureties was presented and approved on motion by
Trustee Ridenour seconded by Trustee Wharton. I

The `Cl'erk presented a "commiinicatioh-from the
• �� Sales Department 'of the-'Standard Oil Coinpdit"
requesting a permit to operate a one ton track on
the 1:1unicipal.,tier between the hours :of 6 and 8
0�1 A. ,11. for the purpose of supplying gasoline and
oil to the lau:hch, to be. used. in carrying passangers
to the fishing barge. On motion by Trustee Wharton
r seconded by Trustee Mitchell , the Clerk was in-
structed to write a letter to the Standard Oil
Company grar_tir_g, their request.
A letter signed by-E. B. . Stevens was presented
suggesting that the Board provide suitable rest
rooms on the outer end of the pier which was given x
favorable consideration and referred to the Build-
ing and Improvement Committee for report at the
next meeting. .
A letter from Albin E. Johnson Company, Cer-
— tified Public Accountants was read , making a pro-
posal for conducting an audit of the City Books.
This communication was held over for considerati-oh
wi t:h othe r applications that may c ome in later.
Trustee Mitchell at this time also filed with
the Clerk, the names of two other accounting firms
as follows:
Arthur Young and Company, 650 A. spring Street,
Los Angeles.
lfm. Dolge m d Company., W. Id. Garland. Building,
Los Angeles.
There being no further business the Board
adjourned until 8': P. S. Friday. the 23rd of April ,
1926.
