City Hall, June lst, 1926
In accordance with notices of a- special meeting signed by the
President of the Board and all members of the Board of Trustees, the
original of which is attached hereto and made a part of these
mpetin defined Minutes, the Board was called to order at 7:30 o' clock P.M. by
President Bolter in special session .for the following purpose:
Receiving and acting upon the resignation of the City Clerk,
Appointing a City Clerk to fill the unexpired term,
Appointingta City -Controller and Gas Department Auditor,
Confirming the appointment of a Deputy City- Clerk and Chief Clerk,
and to take such action as the Board thinks best with reference
to the application of the Superior Oil Company for erecting an
oil derrick on loos 1, 2, 5 and 6 Block 122, Huntington Beach.
Trustees present : iharton,yitchall,Ridenour, Harris, Boster.
rAstees absent : None.
W R Whorton In the absence of City Clerk :`i R Wright the President
Clerk Pro-tem appointed Trustee 7 R ':iharton Clerk of the Board Pro-tem.
On motion by Trustee Wharton, seconded by Trustee Harris
Resignation of the written resignation of City Clerk A R '.right was accepted
City Clerk by the following vote :

Noes None
Absent None .
On motion by 'Trustee Aharton, seconded by Trustee Mitchell
Appointment of Charles R Purr was appointed City Clerk to fill the unexpired
Chris R Parr term of W R Wright by, the following vote:
City Clerk
Ayes Trustees :Wharton,Hitchall,Ridenour, Harris, Boster
Noes Trustees: None
Absent Trustees :None.
and carried
Ars Dert Auditor On motion by Trustee Mitchell seconded by Trustee Wharton/
mointed and the position of Auditor of the Gas Department was created, and
office created on motion by Trustee jharton seconded by Trustee Hitchell and
carried C R Purr was appointed as Auditor of the Gas Department
at the salary of50.00 per month to serve at the pleasure of
the Board.
On motion by Trustee Wharton, seconded by Trustee Mitchell
C R n rr and carried C R Purr was appointed City Controller at a salary
runinte City of ; 50.00 per month to serve at the pleasure of the Board, and on
Controller motion by Trustee Kitchell seconded by Trustee :;harton the
City Contriller was allowed an expense account of not to exceed
025.00 per month.
On motion by Trustee ;iharton, seconded by Trustee Ridenour
Bonds of C R :Piirzand carried the burety bonds of C R Purr City Clerk in the penal
City Clerk and sum of :;',l, 000 and for City Controller; in the penal sum of .500.00
Controller were approved and ordered placed on file.
At this time President of the Board Boster administered the
�c'maion of,ath of office to C R Purr the new City Clerk thereupon the
- 5-arety Bonds of C R Purr City Clerk and City Controller were
O-th C R Purr turned over to the President of the Board as required by Ordinance.

pleasure of the City Clerk at the salary of 9"200 per month.
The President then announced that the matter of issuing
Arpli erti on of a building permit to the Superior 011 Company to build an
Superior 0il Cn oil derrick on lots 1, 2, 5 and 6 Boock 122 was in order for
tn build derrinkdiscussion and stated that it was the desire of the Board
to avoid all unnecessary delay in issuing permits in the new
oil territory, hence the reason for calling the special meeting.

On motion by Trustee Harris, seco-.lded by 'Trustee ':di- rton and
carried the Engineer was instructed to issue a perriit to the �
Superior Oil Company to build an oil derrick in accordance
with Ordinances now in effect. �
Trustee 'hart-on secohded by Trustee Ridenour and carried,
the Board adjourned.
