Pursuant to adjournment/the Board was called to order at
7:30 o' clock P M Sept 20th by President Boster.
Trustees present : Wharton,Mitchall , Boster
Truatees absent : Ridenour,Harris
In the absence of Trustee Harris the Chair appointed Trustee
Wh,-rton on Wharton on the Finance Committee.

The Clerk read an application from the Standard Oil Company
A—n ir-tion of asking for permit to erect and maintain an oil and gas filling
S 0 Co to build station at the junction of Main Street and Ocean Avenue. Motion
GA ^ St,- on Ocean by Trustee Wharton to deny the request was lost for want of a
fr.nnt ^t M--in second. No action was taken other than
to investigate fan drep�or�t at a-94tia-& meeting.
A lease submitted by the Pacific Electric Wand Company for a
Lease submitted strip along the south side of Ocean Avenue from 5th to loth
for stria on street was laid over to next meeting.

Rerort of He@ thmonthly report of Dr V E Presson of the Health Department was
De-t accepted and ordered filed.
The clerk read an analysis of the petition asking for immediate
Petition for nndremoval of drilling restrictions by the Board, also a petition
Against oil asking that restrictions be not removed until all territory
in the new district West of 17th Street way proven thereupon
the chair ordered both reports filed.
President Boster called attention of those present to the
Msss Meeting open meeting to be held in the City Auditorium on September

H B' Base B-1-1 Huntington Beach Base all Club and asked that the City

expense of beautifying the grounds, and on motion by Trustee
Wharton seconded by Trustee Mitchell to d carried the request
was granted. '
At this time the Clerk gave M, No 287 providing for the
Ord 2.87 appointment of an Examiner of echamical Engineers its second and
IAec,Engineers final reading and on motion by--Trustee Wha.rtibn seconded by Trustee
Mitchell same was passed and adopted by the follbwin vote:

office City in the City Attorney' s office was laid over to next meeting.
On motion by Trustee I harton, s econded by Trustee Mitchell demands
Bills said ntunbered 6431 to 6439 inclusive were allowed and ordered paid.
On motion By trustee Wharton seconded by Truste-_ Mitchell the
Adv IhIngr S^1^ry $100 per month now allowed the Advertising lingr from the General fund
was transferred to the TTizaic enVIP='rcmcticn fund.
President Boster reported that complaints were coming in relative
Rest Rooms ^t to rest rooms in the public library being closed to the public and
Library on motion by Trustee Mitchell seconded by Trustee Wharton the City
Clerk was instructed to write the Library Board asking that the
basement and first floor rest rooms be labeled one for men and one
for tltemen and kept open during hours the library is open to the public.
Revoke permit of On motion by Trustee Wharton seconded by Trustee Mitchell and
W,grner & Lindl eycarried the permit of Warner and Lindley to operate a boat landing
BoAt 'I ^nding off the Municipal Pier was revoked entirely.

Engineer Rosson called attention to the fact that steel derricks
Guying oil were not being properly guyed and suggested that an ordinance be
derricks passed for the purpose of safety.
On motion by Trustee `,, harton seconded by Trustee Mitchell and
Bond of carried the bond of F A Stroud and I: S Stroud and R S Seabrook
contractors contractors was approved and ordered filed.

carried the salary of the fire chief was increased in the amount
