City Hall, October 6th,1926
Pursuant to adjournment of October 4th, the meeting was called to
order by President Boster at 7 :00 o'clock PM.
Trustees present ;ilharton,Mitchell, Harris,Boster.
Trustees Absent :Ridenour.
Application of the California Petroleum Company to cut curb and
Cl�.t Curb construct driveway at 20th Street, Lot 20 Block 219 was granted -on
motion by Trustee :Hharton seconded by Trustee Harris.
Fire Chief' The Clerk read a letter from the Amerdcail LaFrahce Fire Engine

motion by Truster: T1itchell, seconded by Trustee Wharton the Fire Chief
was authorized to attend the convention and his expenses to be paid
by the City.
T;Ionthly Fero is The Clerk read the monthly reports of the City Clerk, City
�reasurer, City Recorder, City Engineer and City Advertising Manager
For Sent . and on motion by Trustee Wharton seconded by. Trustee Mitchell same
were approved and ordered filed.
Resolution . At this time the Clerk read Resolution No 559 providing for
No 559 calling of a Special T-tunicipal Election on November 16th,1926, for
calling S_-1the purpose of submitting to the qualified electors- two ordinances
Election to for rising the present restrictions against oil drilling in Certain
vote on oil portions of the residential district of the City of Huntington Beach,
Restrictions a copy of which is on file in the office of the Dity Clerk and open
to inspection. On motion by Trustee Harris seconded by Trustee
Mitchell and carried Resolution No 559 was passed and adopted by the
following vote :
Ayes Trustees ,Nharton,Mitchell, Harris,Boster.
Noes Trustees : None
Absent Trustees: Ridenour

The meeting was again called to order at 8:45 PM by President
Boster.
S 0 Co A, The matter of application of the Standard Oil Company to erect
to erect and operate a gasoline and oil filling station at or near the junction
Gas St--. on of Main Street and Ocean Avenue was again taken up.Trustee Harris
Ocean _Aveoffered the following motion" That the permit be granted the 'Standard
Oil Company in accordance with the application but with this exception
rproved that same be constructed in accordance with certain changes made by
the City Engineer on plans and specifications now do file for the same"
this motion was seconded by Trustee Mitehell,put and carried, Trustee

Pac .elect A lease submitted by the Pacific Electric Railway Company in
Lease which certain portions along the southwest side of Ocean Avenue is
to be leased to the City of Huntington Beach,was submitted to the
submitted t8ity Attorney for analysis and report back to the Board.

On motion by Trustee Wharton seconded by Trustee Mitchell the
Resi.gnationresignation of Mrs C D Hooper, cashier ,of the Gas Department was
Mrs Hooper accepted and the appointipent of Helen nardin at a salary of $115.00
per month and P,Zrs 0 A Mosier as clerk at 085 per month was approved.
Also Motion by Trustee 101harton seconded by Trustee Mitchellt Grace
M Brose was allowed $10.00 per month from the Gas Department fund for
extra services and auditor C R Furr t50.00 per month for additional
work auditing the various departments of the city's records.
On motion by Trustee Wharton seconded by Trustee Mitchell demands
Demands numbered 6561, 6562, 6563 .and 6564 veers allowed and ordered paid.
