Council Chamber,November S 1926
Pursuant to adjournment of November lst,the meeting was
called to order at 7:00 o 'clock P M by President Boster.
Trustees present: Wharton,Mitchell,Harris,Boster.
Trustees absent None
Recess Immediately after the Board was called to order,President
Boster declared a short recess for the purpose of going into
executive -session.
Meeting again called to order at 7:15 P M by President Boster.
The Clerk read a letter from the City Engineer asking
Outfall sewer permission to make certain repairs and purchase equipment for
repairin the City sewage treqtment plant amounting to appro-
imately 9200.00 and on motion by Trustee Wharton ,seconded by
Trustee Harris permission was granted by the Board.
The matter of proceedinge for sewer on the East side in
Vista Del Mar tracts was •referred to the City Engineer for
East Side sewer advise and report at the next meeting.
The Clerk read a letter from Virgil J Morris,Treasurer of the
Pasadena Realty Board,commending the police department in general
Police Dept and traffic officer Mohn in particular for courteous treatment
in performance of duty.The chair instructed the Clerk to acknow-
ledge receipt of the letter and transmit a copy of same to those
concerned in the police department,also the local paper.
Pursuant to resignation of Trustee Ridenour on October,2.5th,
1926,the Board proceeded to nominate and elect a successor to
Appointment of fill the unexpired term of Trustee Ridenour;thereupon Trustee. A
' Dr G A Shank City Wharton nominated Dr G A Shank which nomination was seconded
Trustee by Trustee Harris; there being no further nominations,the chair
declared the. nominations closed whereupon Dr G A Shank was
elected to fill the unexpired term of Trustee L R Ridenour by
the following vote:
Ayes Trustees: Wharton,Mitchell,Harris,Boster
Noes Trustees: None
Absent Trustees None
At this time the City Clerk administered the oath office,
Sruatee . Shank and after having signed the same Trustee Shank took his seat

On motion by Trustee Wharton,seconded by Trustee Harris
Electric Bond the surety band of Wagner-Woodruff Company,electrical contractors
was apprved and ordered filed.
On motion by Trustee Harris seconded by Trustee Mitchell y
Electric Bond the surety bond of California Petroleum Company to engage in
. the electrical construction business was approved and ordered
filed.
Welding shop Appl The application of C C Forbes to operate an electric
welding shop at the corner of Main Street and Orange Avenue
denied was on motion by Trustee Wharton,seconded by Trustee Mitchell,
denied.
On motion by Trustee Wharton seconded by Trustee Mitchell
Demands paid demands numbered 6709 to 6710 inclusive were approved and
ordered paid.
At this time, the President having first been duly
Cohtract County authorized by .former action of the Council,signed the Contract
Health Dept. between the City of Huntington Beach and the County of Orange,
Health Department whereby the County Health department agrees
for a period of one year and a consideration of One Dollar,to
handle all matters pertaining to sanitary inspection and
other duties comming under this department.
This was followed by a general discussion of the water supply
Water Shortage andsituation and certain unsanitary practices of temporary eating
unsanitary cefes houses in the new oil district and was concluded on motion
in oil field by Trustee Harris,seconded by Trustee Wharton that the chair
appoint a committee of two members of the Board to investigate
water shortage conditions and report their findings at the
next meeting of the Board.

The matter of accepting a, deed from the Huntington Beach
Deed for Company for an extension of Utica Street was referred to the
Utica St. City attorney with a request that he wrire the Huntington Beach
High School stating the conditions under which the City could
accept the deed.
On motion by Trustee Wharton seconded by Trustee Harris
Song Svc the appropriation for community csong -service at the auditorium
discontinued. was discontinued.
The matter of allowing the police force two days or more
Police force off duty during each' month was deferred to next meeting for
days off further diseussmon.
There being no further business to come before the Board
Adjourned.. at this time, on motion by Trustee Harris seconded by Trustee t
Mitchell,the Board adjourned until 7:00 o'clock PM Monday
