City Hall Huntington Bezch,Dec 6th,1926
The regular meeting was called to order at 7:30 o 'clock
PM by President Boster.
Present 5 members Trustees Present ; Wharton,Mitchell,Shank,Harris,Boster
All members of the -Board being present and having prevously
received and read a copy of the minutes for the month of November
Reading of min- 1926,the following motion was made by Trustee Wha.rton, seconded

the minutes of the proceedings of the Board for the month of
November,1926,that the readinW of same by the Clerk be dispensed
with and approved as recorded
Mr A G Everett called. attention of the Board to the need of
East Side additional sewer system on the East Side.
sewer The Clerk read petitions signed by a number of interested
property owners in the Vista Del Mar section calling for the
construction of a sewer system in and along certain streets and
alleys- and on motion by Trustee Wharton seconded by Trustee
specifications a.rris the City Engineer was instructed to draw plans,profiles
and specifications for a sewer system,and that all expenses of
ordered proceedings and installation of the system be had and done under
an assessment district and that �all unpaid assessments be collected
under the 1915,Bond Act.
Huntington Ave The Clerk read a petition signed by interested property
owners along Huntington Avenue calling for the installation of
Lighting an ornamental lighting system consisting of Marbelite posts.
petition On motion by Trustee Harris seconded by Trustee Wharton the
matter was referred to the City Engineer for investigation and
recommendation at the next meeting of the Board.
W H Kelly BondS On motion by Trustee Wharton seconded by Trustee Shank the
urety Bond of W H Keliy,electrician was approved and ordered
filed.-
The Clerk read a communication from C L Thomas asking
City Garbage permission to assign the City Garbage Contract to Gerald B Thomas.
The Chair asked that the matter of decision be laid over until
as ign.nent the next meeting of the Board for investigation.
The Clerk read a petition signed by a number of citizens

and same was referred to the City Enginee r for investigation.
P E Ry objects A letter from the Pacific Electric Railway objecting to use
of their right of way for street purposes was read and on
to street motion by. Trustee Wharton seconded by Trustee Mitchell same was
ordered filed.
Letter from the Huntington Beach High School signed by C A
Utica St Deed Johnson,President of the Board relative to deed to a portion of
Utica Street was read and ordered_ filed..
On motion by b Trustee Mitchell, seconded by Trustee Shank the
Bowling Parlor application of Chaxley E 14erryfield to install and operate a six-
alley bowling parlor at 216 Fifth Street was approved. and
5th St permission granted.'
Application of William Ulery to build wooden porch on the
Wm Ulrey building ,at 3rd and OceEn Ave was on motion by Trustee Wharton
seconded by Trustee Harris,Denied,
A Committee from the Chamberof Commerce composed of D 0
C of C Committee Stewart,Joseph Vavra and Elson G Conrad,add.ressed the Board
Bldg Restrictionsfith recommendations that action be taken to remove building
restrictions in certain porstions of the fire zone so as t'o
permit the better class of buildings and residences to be
moved in from the new oil field district.
It this time the Cler': gave Ordinance No 291 its first
Ord,No 291 redding.This Ordinance provides for certain modifications of
the fire and residence district in what is known as the
Business District.

On motion by Trustee Ha.rris,seconded by Truste _ Shank the
Fairchild Elect application of Pubs M H Fairchild to erect an electric sign

Inspector.

The application of Frank A Grant to erect and operate
Frank A Grant an asphalt manufacturing plant in Block 418,Seventeenth
Asphalt Plant Street Section was on motion by Trustee Shank., seconded by
Trustee Mitchell,denied.

The application of R C Mathers to construct an electric
R C 'lathers Elect sign on the 'Olson Building Main Street was on motion by
Trustee Harris seconded by Trustee Shank granted subject
Sign Olson Bldg to supervision of the Building Inspector.
C F Kerr submitted application for permission to lay
C F Kerr,overflo�v a 1-L inch overflow gas line at his filling station corner
5th and Olive,and on motion by Trustee Shank,seconded by
line 5th & Olive Trustee Harris permission was granted to issue permit,
Application of Clyde Kinman to erect a real estate office
Real estate Ofs flize 10 x 10 feet on lot 10 block 114 was on motion by Trustee
lot 10 B1 114 arris seconded by Trustee Shank,granted.
On motion by Truste, Wharton seconded by Trustee Mitchell
Cut curbs and carried,permiscion was given to is.:ue permit to the Ahlburg.
Oil Company to cut curb for driveway ,-lot 10 Block 116,and to
L W Colton to cut curb for driveway lot 16 Block 216.
The Clerk read the monthly reports of City Treasurer,City
C1erk,City Recorder- and City Engineer and on motion by Trustee
Monthly reports Wharton seconded by Trustee Harris same were approved and
ordered filed.
At this time the Clerk gave Ordinance No 290 its second and
Ordinance 290 passed final reading and on motion by Trustee Xharton, seconded by Trustee
Harris, same was passed and adopted by the following vote:
Ayes: Trustees Wharton,Mitchell,Shank,Harris,Boster,
Noes Trustees None.
Ord No 292,1st re._di Ordinance No 292 was given its first reading by the Clerk
t this time.
The Clerk reed resolution No 561 in support of the Harbor
Resoltntion 561 Bond Election and on motion by Trustee Wharton, seconded by '
Trustee Shank same was passed and adopted by the following vote:
Ayes Trustees Wharton,Mitchell,Shank,Harris,Boater.
Noes Trustees None.
On motion by Trustee Mitchell,seconded by Trustee Shank the ,
Subdivisions City Clerk and City Engineer were autl3orized to sign tracing of
562,598 subdivisions numbered 562 and 598 located outside the City limits.
On motion by Trustee Wharton seconded by Trustee Mitchell
'La:mp Globes the City Controller was instructed to enter into contract with
McIntosh Electric Company to furnish electric globes for year
commencing December let 1926.
On motion by Truster. Wharton seconded by Trustee Harris and
Demands carried demands numbered 6711 to 6894 were approved and same
having been audited by Finance Committee were ordered paid,' ,

On motion by Trustee , :: seconded by Trustee Shank the
City Clerk wa; directed to write a letter to Joseph Vavra
Joseph Vavra thanking him on behalf of the Board of Trustees for decorating
the City Autom6bile which was entered in the parade Armistice day.
On motion by Trustee Harris seconded by Trustee Wharton the
Adjourned Board adjourned until 7:00 ' M Monday,December 13,1926.
