SPECIAL- MEEING, City Ha11, Jan 13th,1927
I � Pursuant to Special call by .Trustee Boster President of the
i Spl Meeting Board of Trustees, the original of which is attached hereto and made
i a part of these minutes, the Board was called to order at 7:00
oaclock P _M by_ President Boster.
Trustees present: Wharton,Mitchell,Shank,Harris,Boster,
Trustees absent None
The first order of business was a discussion by the Board and
Delinquent City Attorney relative to delinquent license on oil derricks owned
a Derrick License by the Standard Oil Company and others.
The City Attorney called attention of the Board to the present
annual license rate under Ordinance No 281 , which was passed and
Derrick License adopted on the 29th day of April,1926; stating that he had investigated
reduced similar fees charged in other cities, and that he believed the time
y, had arrived when this Ordinance should be amended. He recommended
that the annual rate be made $50.00 per year on the location of
each derrick.
That the Standard Oil Company officials had expressed a
S 0 Co agrees willingness to pay the license department an amount which would be
to pay equivalent to all license due the City on new derricks erected in
the new oil field under present rate.
Thereupon the following motion was made by Trustee Harris,
10That the City Attorney be authorized and directed to proceed to
collect from the Standard Oil Company and prepare and submit an
Ordinance reducing the annual license fee on derricks locations '
to $50.00 per year" which motion was seconded by Trustee Shank
put and carrued by the following vote:
Ayes, Trustees Wharton,Mitchell,Shank,Harris,Boster,

The Clerk read Resolution No 56slof the Board of Trustees
Reno 56q appointing Election officere for the Special Municipal Election -
Election Boardto be held on the Sth day of February,1927, and on motion by
Gas Election Trustee Mitchell seconded by Trustee Wharton, Resolution No 5691
was passed and adopted 'by the following vote:
Ayes Trustees Wharton,Mitchell,Shank,Harris, Boater.
Noes Trustees None.

You are hereby notified that the President of the Board of
Trustees hereby calls a special meeting of the 'Board of Trustees
of the City of Huntington Beach, to be held at 7 o'clock P.M.
Thursday, January 13th, 1927, at the Council Chambers in the City
Hall , for the following purposes ;
FIRST : To consider the acceptance or rejection of a pro—
posed payment and adjustment by Standard Oil Company of California,
a corporation, of the .claim of said City of- Huntington Beach for
p unpaid license fees. 11
SECOND — For the selection and appointment;.-of •an election
board and election officers for the Municipal Eleot.i'on to be held
February 8th, 1927, on the proposition to sell a municipally owned sd
public utility, to—wit : the Gas Distributing System, works, app.ur—.
tenances and .apparatus, more particularly described,, in the ordinance
calling said election,
