Trustees present: Mitchell,Shank,Harris Trustees absent : .Boster,Wharton. On motion by Trustee Harris-,seconded by Trustee Shank,put and Trustee Mitchel arried, Trustee Mitchell was appointed Chairman pro—tem of the Board chairman I act in the absence Of President Boster. On motion byp Trustee Harris,seconded by Trustee Shank,permission Cut curb. was. granted L H Benning to cut curb for driveway at 719,Delaware Ave, The Clerk read application of R D Brown_ for renewal of .pool—hall R' D1Brown pool license at 203 Main Street, same having been approved by the Chief of hal permit Police; on motion by Trustee Shank,seconded by Trustee Harris the Clerk' was authorized to renew permit for one year. Y This being the date set for hearing protests or objections against Protests the installation of a sanitary sewer system in and near the Vista Del sewer V D M Mar Section of the City of Huntington Beach, the Clerk read a petition signed by a number 6f interested property owners in the district to be assessed and protesting against the use of cement pipe. On motion by Trustee Harris,seconded by Trustee Shank,put and carried,action on the above named- petition was deferred until 7:00 o'clock PM Monday January 31st:1927• Clay Pipe This was followed by arguments by Ed Manning, W B Phillips of the fopioo Cley Products Company and Mr- Wagner of the Pacific Clay y Products Company in favor of using Vitrified Clay pipe for sanitary sewer construction. Mrs C Frances Clarke invited the Board to attend a W C T U meeting to be at the Christian Church Feb let, . Roy Callahan called. She attention of the Board to an absorption Objections to plant being erected on Block 514, and objected to it being so close Gas- Plant Bl to the Grammar School and residences. Professor Brooks of the High 514 School objected for the same reasons. The Clerk read application of the Julian Petroleum Corporation to erect and operate a gasoline absorption plant on lots 22,24 Miefi Oil Co 26 and 28,,B1 514. On motion by Trustee Harris seconded by Trustee Appl for Gas Shank, action on this application was deferred until Monday Jan 31st, 7 o'clock PM. plant Bl 514 At this time Trustee Mitchell announced that an open meeting would be held in the City Auditorium Friday evening,7:30 Pm Mass Meeting Feb 4th for the purpose of an informan discussion on the sale of t Gas Sale the gas distributing -system. On motion by Trustee Shank,seconded by Trustee Harris, the a Standard Oil Co was given permission under supervision of the S 0 Co Gas-'& Buildin Inspector to erect a - oil Station g p gas and oil service station near 23rd & Ocean junction of 23rd and Ocean Ave. Application of the Superion Oil Co to construct pole line and string electric lines on and across certain streets in the new oil Superior .Oii 04field was on motion by TrILstee -Shanks seconded by Trustee Harris ranted under the supervision of the . City Engineer;i and in Elect pole linccordance with ordinances in effect, On motion by Trustee Harris seconded by Trustee Shank demands 7057 to 7076 were approved and ordered paid. At this time 'the Clerk gave Ordinances numbered 298 and 299 their Ord 298 first reading. Ord ,299 Thie being the time set for hearing objections to the improvement of Huntington Avenue by the installattLon of an- ornamental lighting system, the Clerk informed the Board that no written protests or Lighting objections had been received and filed.
