MINUTES
City Hall, February 7th, 1927
The regular meeting was called. to order at 7:30 o' clock
PM by President Boster.
Trustees Present: Wharton, Mitchell, Shank, Harris, Boster.
The Clerk read the minutes of the Board for the month of
January, and on motion by Trustee Wharton seconded by Trustee
Mitchell same were approved as read.
The Clerk read reports of the City Clerk, Treasurer, Recorder
Monthly reports and Engineer for the month of January, and on motion by Trustee
Harris, seconded by Trustee Shank same were approved and ordered
filed.
Recess At this time the chair declared a short recess to audit and
sign demands.
Meeting again called to order by .President Boster at 9:30 PM.
The application of the Superior Oil Company to lay certain
Superior Oil Co. oil pipe lines was on motion by Trustee Shank, seconded by
Trustee Mitchell, put and carried granted, the work to be done
application in accordance with ordinances and under supervision of the
City Engineer.
Demands On motion by Trustee Wharton seconded by Trustee Harris
paid demands numbered 7077 to 7238 inclusive were approved and
ordered paid, same having been approved by the finance committee.
The Clerk read application of the Julian Petroleum
Julian Petroleum Corporation to lay wet and-dry gas lines on and along both
application the west and east sides of 17th Street. On motion by Trustee
r Mitchell, seconded by Trustee Shank permission was given the
City Engineer to issue p.ermit 'for wet lines and the application
to lay dry gas lines was denied. The work to be done under the
supervision of the City Engineer.
The Clerk read a report of the SuperiWeddedt of the Gas
department calling attention of the Board;certain companies
and particularly the Richfield Oil Company and the California
Oil Companies Petroleum Corporation who were delinquent in' payment of their
1� cent gas tax, and on motion by Trustee Harris , seconded by
ga.s tax delin- Trustee Shank, the City Attorney was authorized and directed
quent to proceed to Collect that which is:`due the City.
Mr Chandler of the Orange County Health Department
Nr Chandler addressed the Board and asked if the services of his department
C Health Dept were satisfactory to the Board, and was informed by President

addressesHeal Board Boster that in so far as he knew their duties were being
performed satisfactory to the Board and all concerned.
On motion by Trustee Shank seconded by Trustee Mitchell
New nc lease for the City Attorney was instructed to prepare a new lease for
Concession owner the present omners of concession on the Municipal pier for a
period of three years commencing June 1st, 1927.
Waive charge fdr us On motion by Trustee Harris seconded by Trustee Shank
of City Auditorium Othe City Clerk was authorized and directed to waive charge
for use of the City Auditorium by the Church of Christ under
date of January 30th.
On motion by .Trustee Shank seconded by Trustee Wharton
Warehouse permit the application of the Huntington Beach Supply Company to
erect a warehouse on Lot 22 Block 910 was approved and the
building inspector directed to issue permit for same.
The Clerk read application of Ahlberg Gasoline Co. to
Cut curb cut curb and install driveway lots 21,23 B1 621 and Boots
14016 B1 517, and of E Woods for same Lot 8 B1 116, Lot 21 B1 2162
and on motion by Trustee Shank seconded by ,Trustee Harris
permission was given to issue permits for same.

On motion by Trustee Harris, seconded by -Trustee Shank,
St. Dept. the City Controller was authorized to burr such used 9,10 & 12
casings inch casing as the Supt of Streets may. need for repair of
culverts and construct drains in amount not to exceed- $300.00.
On motion by Trustee Harris seconded by Trustee Shank
Adjourned the Board adjourned until 7:00 o' clock PM, Mpnday February
14th2 1927.
