Trustees present: Wharton, Shank, Harris , Boster Trustees absent Mitchell The Clerk read a protest signed by a number of property owners in and adjacent to Block 910 Wesley Park Tract protesting against Protest ware- the Board permitting a warehouse to be erected. on Block 910. On house permit motion by Trustee Shank , seconded by Trustee Harris the protest was accepted and ordered placed on file. This being the time set for taking action on bids submitted Bids On chassis for furnishing the City Fire Department with a truck chassis, rejected Trustee Wharton moved that all bids be rejected, which was second- ed- by Trustee Shank , put and carried. On motion by Trustee Shank , seconded by Trustee Harris the Railroad Com- Chair was authorized to appoint a committee to meet with the mission meeting Railroad Commission Representative in Los Angeles on March loth in the matter of a hearing relative to crossing over the P E and So Pac tracks at Hartford Street. President Boster appointed City Attorney Thedieck and City Engineer Rosson to attend. set This being the: time/for receiving and opening bids for the Bids for improvement of a portion of Huntington Avenue by the install- Huntington Ave. ation of an Ormamental Lighting system the City Clerk opened and Lighting system, read the following bids: Fritz Ziebarth, 807 Farmers and Merchants Bank Bldg, Long Beach, the sum of $6,500, accompanied by bidders bond in the amount of $2,000. Walker & Martin, of 402 West Wilshire Ave , Fullerton Calif the sum of $6,000.00 accompanied by bidders bond in the amount of $1,000. John R. Davies , 2131 Santee St , - Los Angeles , Calif ; the sum of $5,250.00 accompanied by bidders bond in the amount of $1,000.00 ROBERTS.ON ELECTRIC _COMPANY, Santa Ana, Calif , the sum of $5,449.00, accompanied b bidders bond in the amount of $ 800.00. Oberg Bros, 3470 Hollenbeck Ave, Los Angeles , the sum of ,$6,392.00, accompanied by bidders bond in the amount of $ 800.00. � R E McIntosh, Huntington Beach, Calif the sum of $6,055.00, accompanied by bidders bond in the amount of $700.00 On motion by Trustee Harris seconded by Trustee Shank all bids were turned over to the City Engineer to analyze and report back. Cut curb On motion by Trustee Wharton seconded by Trustee Harris permission was granted .L W Colton to out curb Lot 10, B1 113. This being the date set for canvassing the tetmrns of the Special Municipal Eltetion which was held on Tuesday the Sth Canvass of votes day of February, 1927; the Clerk read Resolution No 570 of the Resolution N0570 Board of Trustees declaring the result of said election and the number of votes for and against the proposition voted upon to- geiher with the total number of votes cast vgeme a.s follows:, Proposition Precinct Precinct Precinct Precinct Total r Voted upon. At this time the City Engineer mdde report on the result of his Res, No 571 analysis of all bids submitted for the improvement of Huntington passed avenue stating that John R. Davis was the lowest bidder in his bid of .r $5,250.00, thereupon the Clerk read Resolution of Award No 571 , and on motion by Trustee Wharton, seconder by Trustee Shank , Resolution No 571 was passed and adopted by the following vote: 291" (Minutes Feb 14th. 1927) Ayes Trustees Wharton, Shank, Harris , Boster, Noes Trustees None Absent Trustee Mitchell. On motion by Trustee Harris , seconded by Trustee Shank, Advertise for bids the City Clerk was authorized and directed to advertise for for Fire Dept. bids forfurnishing the City of Huntington Beach Fire Depart— apparatus ment with a complete firefighting apparatus consisting of a "Seagrave Suburbanite' of its equivalent, bids to be received up until 7:30 o' clock PM of March 7th, 1927 and bids to be opened andexamined at said hour and date. The Clerk read Resolution No 572 ordering the City Res. No 572 Engineer to prepare plans and specifications for the install— ation of a sanitary sewer system in certain portions of the City . of Huntington Beach, and on motion by Trustee Shank seconded by Trustee Harris, Resolution No 572 was passed and adopted by the following vote: Ayes Trustees Wharton, Shank, Harris,,-- Boster Noes Trustees None Absent Trustee Mitchell The Clerk read application of the Superior Oil Co. to Superior Oil Co. readjust and add to their present electrical lines , also application to cut curb in Block 216, and on motion by Trustee Harris seconded by Trustee Wharton permission was granted adcord.ingly. The Clerk read Resolution No 573 adopting plans and specifications for the installation of a sanitary sewer s.ys.tem and" on motion by Trustee Shank, seconded by Trustee Harris, Res 'No 573 Resolution No 573 was passed and adopted by the following vote: Ayes Trustees Wharton, Shank,- Harris , Boster Noes Trustees None Absent Trustee Mitchell The dlerk read Resolution of Intention No 574 of the Board declaring its intention to order the installation of a Res of Intention sanitary sewer and on motion by Trustee Harris , seconded by No 574 Trustee Shank Resolution No 574 was passed and adopted by the following vote: Ayes Trustees Wharton, Shank, Harri&:i Boster Noes Trustees None Absent "{ Trustee Mitchell. The Clerk called attention of the Board to the fact that the Wilshire Oil Company was retailing gasoline from a station on 17th Street inside the City Limits without a license, and that the station was not built in accordance with ordinances Wilshire Oil Co governing the construction of retail gasoline and oil stations. license On motion by Trustee Harris seconded by Trustee Shank the matter was referred to the City Attorney with authority to take the necessary action immediately to enforce the Ordinance governing. On motion by Trustee Harris seconded by Trusteelffharton Chairs for theCity Controller wa.s authotized and directed to purchase auditorium 25 chairs for the City Auditorium stage. On motion by Trustee Harris seconded by Trustee Wharton Demands paid demands numbered 7239 to 7262 were approved and ordered paid. J. H Macklin addredded the Board relative to sewer conned.tions made by the City yard to his 6-47 iva.te line and J. H. Macklin asked for reimbursement of a part of the spent by him— addresses Board self for this line. The Matter was turned over to the City Engineer to investigate and offer his recommendations at the next meeting of the Board. On motion by Trustee Harris seconded. by Trustee Wharton St .Dept the City Controller was authorized to purchase a self pro— pelling toot cutting nozzle for the Street Department. 292 (Minuues Feb 14, 1927) Salary of Asst. On motion by Trustee Harris seconded. by Trustee Wharton Engineer increased, the salary of the assistant Engineer was increased to $150 per month commencing February 1st. This on recommendation of the City Engineer. Ord No 300 The Clerk gave Ordinance No 300 of the Board appointing a weighmaster its first reading at this time. Trustee Wharton again took up the matter of a. day each week off for police officers and the Chair recommended that Police day off this be gone into again xgxlx at the next meeting of the Board, March 7th. On motion by Trustee Wharton seconded by Trustee Harris adjourned the Board adjourned.
