Trustees present: Wharton, Mitchell , Harris , Boster Trustees absent : Shank. On motion by Trustee Wharton, seconded by Trustee Mitchell Cut Curb the City Engineer was authorized to issue permit to the Superior Oil Co to cut curb and install driveways on Ocean= Ave near 15th. St. and llth. The Board having acquired jurisdiction the Clerk read Res— olution No 578 ordering the work of installing a Sanitary sewer Res No 578 passed system in the Vista. Del Mar District and on motion by Trustee Wharton seconded by Trustee Shank Resolution No 578 was passed and adopted by the following vote: Ayes Trustees: Wharton, Mitchell, Shank , Boster Noes Trustees ; Harris Absent Trustees: None. Resolution No 579 of the Board directing the work of in— stalling a Sanitary Sewer System in the Vista Del Mar Section Res No 579 'passed to be done under the supervision of the City Engineer instead, of the City Superintendent of Streets was read by the Clerk and on motion by Trustee Wharton seconded by' Trustee Mitchell Resolution No 579 was passed and adopted by the following vote: Ayes Trustees Wharton, Mitchell , Shank , Boster Noes Trustees Harris Absent Trustees None The Clerk read annlication of the Southern Counties Gas Cc for a franchise to lay, operate and maintain gas lines in the City of Huntington Beach and on motion by Trustee Harris Res No 580 seconded by Trustee Mitchell Resolution No 580 (after having Franchise sale been read by the Clerk) directing the City Clerk to advertise for bids for the sale of franchise was pissed and. adopted by the following vote: Ayes Trustees Wharton, Mitchell , Shank , Harris , Boster. Noes Trustees None This being the date set for consi eeing bids for furnishing the City Fire Department with a new fire truck , on motion by Trustee Harris seconded by Trustee Shank all other bids were Fire tr ck bid rejected except that of the Seagrave Corporation and that of accepted the Seagrave Corporation accepted at their price of $6,350.00 less alltwance of $850.00 for the City' s Ford equipment in use ' by the Fire Department. Above' motion carried by the following vote: Ayes Trustees: Wharton, Mitccell , Shank , Harris, Boster Noes Trustees None. The Clerk read application Foster & Kleiser Corncany to erect Foster & Kl'eiser sign at the corner of 5th and Walnut streets and on motion by Trustee Wharton seconded by Trustee Harris , put and carried same was denied. Upon recommendation by the Street Superintendent the Clerk read 29 (Mi utes March 14 1927) Resolution No 581 providing for immediate purchase of street Res No 581 passed repair equipment and two Ford Roadsters without the delay of advertising for bids and on motion by Trustee Harris , seconded by Trustee Wharton Resolution No 581 was passed and adopted by the following vote: Ayes Trustees: Wharton, Mitchell , Shank, Harris , Boster Noes Trustees: None. ` On motion by Trustee Mitchell seconded by Trustee Shank the St . Dept employee salary of Fred Riley, employee of the Street Dept . was fixed salary increase at $175 :per month beginning March lst and to continue at the pleasure of the Board. On motion by Trustee Wharton, seconded� by Trustee Harris Bids on-: disposal the City Clerk was directed to advertise two insertions in the of trash Huntington Beach News for bias on disposal of trash for the City. On motion by Trustee Wharton seconded by Trustee Harris the City Red.order salary of City Recorder was increased to $200 per month effective salary increase march 1st and continue at the pleasure of the Board. On motion by Trustee Wharton seconded by Trustee Harris the Parking Ordinance. City Attorney was directed to draft an Ordinance limiting the proposed time for parking automobiles as follows: Walnut Ave between Main and 3rd dts, 30, minutes Walnut Ave between Main and 5th Sts , 2 hours Main Street between Ocean Ave and Olive Ave 2 hours i Ocean Ave on the North side between Main St and 5th St. 2' hours, all between the hours of 8 AM and •7FI T , Sundays and holidays excepted. Demands paid On motion by Trustee Wharton seconded by Trustee Harris demand No 7395 was allowed and ordered paid.
