M I N U T E S Council Chamber, April 18th, 1927 Pursuant to adjournment of April 4th, the Board was called to order at 7:30 o' clock P M by President of the Board Boster. Trustees present: Boster, Wharton, Mitchell , Shank, Harris. On motion by Trustee Wharton seconded by Trustee Mitchell the Bond filed surety bond of the 3ulian Petroleum Corporation to engage in the electrical construction business was approved and ordered filed. The Clerk read a letter from the American Legion Auxialiary American Legion requesting the Board to provide and set aside sufficient space Aux. memorial in Block 505 for a memorial. On motion by Trustee Mitchell , sedonded by Trustee Harris the request was granted subject to the supervision of the City Park Committee. The application of H 0 Zahn to cut curb and construct driveway Cut curb lot 6 and 7 Block 604 V D M tract was on motion by Trustee Wharton seconded by Trustee Mitchell , granted. This being the date set for consideration of bids for disposal Trash disposal of trash, on motion by Trustee Wharton seconded by Trustee Harris bids rejected all bids were rejected by the following vote: Ayes Trustees Boster, Wharton, Mitchell , Shank, Harris Noes Trustees None On motion by Trustee Harris , seconded by Trustee Mitchell , the City Clerk, City Attorney and City Treasurer were authorized and Examine bands directed to examine bonds proposed to be purchased by the City as an investment of the receipts from sale of the Gas System, .with authority to pass on same and submit to the Board for Trustee Mitchell purchase on or about May 2nd, 1927.P The President appointed Trustee on Finance Com. , Mi•tbhell on the Finance Committee , pro—tem. On motion by Trustee Wharton seconded by Trustee Harris the Flags City Controller was authorized to purchase 225 flags size 3x4. This being the date set for awarding bids for furnishing the Discuss buying City Engineering Department with a roadster and the Police City cars Department with a touring car, the President invited discussion in order to determine what was for the best interest of the City. , Motion by Trustee Harris , seconded -by Trustee Mitchell that all bids be rejected except the bid of L D Coffing Co of Santa Ana and that the Bid of L D Coffing Co be accepted, was lost by the following vote: Ayes Trustees Mitchell , Harris Noes Trustees Wharton, Shank, Boster. Motion by Trustee Wharton seconded by Trustee Shank that all bids be rejected except that of L D Coffing Company and that of Reid Motor Company and that their bids be acceptod;as follows: L D Coffing Co 1 Standard Dodge Brothers Touring Car $975 and they to allow J100 for the City' s used Hudson car. Reid Motor Company, 1 Buick Model 27/25 , series 115 Roadster and Bid accepted allowing $325 for the City► s used four cylinder Buick , which ` motion was carried by the following vote: Ayes Trustees Wharton, Mitchell , Shank, Boster Noes Trustees Harris On. motion by Trustee Wharton seconded by Trustee Shank Demands paid demands numbered 7542 to 7549 were allowed and ordered. paid. The Clerk read Resolution No 583 and on motion by Trustee Resolution 583 Harris seconded by Trustee Mitchell same was passed and adopted by the following vote: Ayes Trustees: Wharton, Mitchell., Shank, Harris , Boster. Ordinance 301 At this time the Clerk gave ordinance No 301 its first reading first reading On motion by Trustee Harris seconded by Trustee Shank the Septic tank for City Controller was authorized to order the installation ref Boy Scout ,Cabin septic tank, and toilet for the Boy Scout Cabin in Lake Park.
