Trustees present Boster-Wharton-IJiitchell- Shank- Harris. Business suspended President Boster addressed the Board and recommended that all business except that absolutely necessary be suspended with and that the Board then adfourn in respect of Judge Warner whose death had caused such a loss to the City. Andrew •H Wilson On motion by Trustee Mitchell , seconded by Trustee Harris , appointed to succeed put and carried unamiously Judge Andrew H 'Gilson was appointed C -,Xr Warner to succeed the' late Judge C IN Warner as City Recorder, On motion by Trustee Shank , geconded by Trustee Mitchell the Resolution of following resolution of condolence was read and adopted: condolence read WHEREAS , God in his infinite wisdom has taken from our midst, our beloved friend and co-.worker CHARLES W. 1TARNER; and 3rHEr�EAS, it is the wish of the officials of the City of Huntington Beach to express in some humble manner their deep sorrow and sympathy to the bereaved family: + NOIT THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Nall of the City of Huntington Beach, be closed on Wednesday the llth day of May 1927 , and that no work be done on-' that day between the hours of twelve noon and five o ' clock P.M. , thereby giving all officials and employees of the City opportunity to extend their sympathy and c.onsolation to the bereaved. family, and to render respect and tribute to the memory of so good a man as our departed friend and City Recorder , Judge Charles W. Warner. He was a highly respected citizen, a, just and upright man 'and a faithful and efficient officer and servant of the. people. His loss will be felt , not only by those of his immediate family, but by., his many friends and. associated. His high ideals and many V. rtues will ever remain deep_ in the memories of those who knew him. r' And yet, we know how much more deeply his loss i.s folt by his immediate family. To them we 4an only say "May the Supreme Ruler of the Universe in His infinite wisdom fortify you with resignation in this hour of sorrow, and comfort you with the Divine assurance that the spirit of the departed, honored and loved one , is happy in his Father' s House" BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy: of this Resolution be sent to the bereaved family and that the ame be prey the inutes of this Board.
