Pursuant to adjournment of June 20th, the Board was called to order
by President Boster at 7;30. PM.

The Clerk read a communication from Mr. Lawshe of the Huntington
Park-way on Beach Company regarding the parkway on 17th Street, near Lake Street ,
17th St. paving statinG that the Huntington Beach Company had no objections to removing
stri}o. said park strip and paving the space in accordance with p-coposed plans.
Regarding oil Communications from the City Attorney regarding Utica St. and. oil

Communication The Clerk read a communication from the Railroad Commission regard-
Railroad Com, ing the hearing on the application of the Southern Counties Gas Co' s
hearing, arplication to exercise their rights under the franchise recently granted
So . Co ' s Gas Co . by the City of Huntington Beach. On motion by Trustee Harris , seconded
by Trustee Shank , the City Attorney was instructed to write the Railroad
Commission advising that the City of Huntington Beach had no objection
to the exercise of rights under their franchise by the Southern Counties
Gas Co.

ing, Hartford. ing the opening of the Hartford Street crossing and the abandoment of the

Apoolicat.ion The Clerk read an application from the Huntington Beach Telephone

Mitchell , seconded by Trustee Harris the permit was granted and the
President of the Board of Trustees authorized to sign the contract.
Regarding The Clerk read a commvaiication from Mr. S Cott, representing the
advertising Pacific Press Association regarding neispaper publicity in the Hot belt
Mr. Scott. and Mr. Scott addressed the Board regarding advantages of such. publicity.
The Proposition was discussed by the Board., but no action taceiz.
A. surety Bond of the Massachusets Bonding and Insurance CO. . for
Surety Bond, E. C. Hillard and W . G. It.cConeskey doing, business as SI" IAL HILL
Mass . Bonding ELECTRIC C07,,iPANY was presented and on :rotian by Trustee Harris , seconded
& Ins . Co . by Trustee Shank, the Bond was accept-ed.
An application for a permit to operate live bait boat- or boats from
permit, the hunicipal pier by Geo. DuBourdieu was presented and a. contract cover-

Cut curb, On motion by Trustee Harris , seconded. by Trustee Y,.itchell , the
41-4-2, Blk 813 Commercial Sunply Co. were granted permission to cut the curb for a.,
driveway at the location of their warehouse on Lots 41 and 42, Block 817
Ordinance No. 306 was (given its second reading and on motion by
Ordinance #306 Trustee "Wharton, seconded by Trustee. Shank, was passed and adopted by the

Appropriation A motion was made by Trustee Shank, seconded by Trustee Wharton ,
$900. 00 for that the appropriation of $800.00 •be turned_ over to the Chamber of
4th of July Commerce to be used in defraying expenses in connection with the
Celebration celebration July 4th, and. that a receipt be taken from the Treasurer

Trash Contract On motion by Trustee Mharton, seconded by Trustee Harris ,
awarded: all bids for Trash Disposal were rejected except the bid o-f
V. B. Hartunian V. B. Hartunian for $'325.00 per month and the President of the
